3 and that is all. That's what all of the hoopla that happened in November stems from. Saban is the measuring stick for all the major programs in the country and when you're their division rival and get just as good talent, you shouldn't be losing 5 straight to them. But honestly if that happens, I'm sure the rest will happen.

Off-topic: I'm curious why first posts are typically starting a new thread instead of contributing to existing threads.

Does this bother you for some reason?

One of the 3 MUST happen, although politics may save Miles' job again.

1. Win West
2. Beat Bama
3. Win 10 games

Maybe you only notice first posts when it's a new thread, and there are plenty other first-post responses that go unnoticed.

I'd imagine new poster threads garner way more attention.

most of this years class will not contribute much to the '16 team, at least until late in the year.

LSU needs to PROVE it can win games via the air. we need to BURN those teams playing 8 or 9 guys in the box or, in the case of bama, simply overwhelming our blocking game with superior talent (or coaching).

until that happens, we are not going to beat bama. and we must beat bama to win the west. those bastards are just too good to lose 2 games.

Great class, but LSU is returning 18/22 IIRC, which is major in CFB.
Most expectations lie here.

100% agree. This new class doesn't make or break us for 2016. It's all about the returning players and their desire. It kinda, just kinda reminds me of the 30 for 30 on the U when Butch Davis leaves and Coker comes in and one of the players says "Coker did exactly what he needed to do.... Nothing." The returning players knew what they had to do and they won it. I think this could be a similar situation. New DC, maybe new OC, coach who was one blade of grass away from getting fired and yet almost everyone is returning.

With what LSU has coming back this shouldn't be the expectation. I know the pumpers believe 10 games is like winning the national championship but the expectations for next years team should be to at least win the SEC.

no kidding. Seriously. Everyone talking about beating Bama, OleMiss, etc but if we can't even beat Arky. Pretty pathetic really.

That's silly, but do you know how many Power 5 programs have averaged 10 wins a yr. since 05...5.

It's amusing how some try to make light of an accomplishment that pretty damn rare to do on a continual basis, but each to our own.

The future of Les and LSU are bright.
Alabama will be Alabama as long as Saban is there.
Deal with it.

So get use to having as our goal victories over Ole Miss and Arky. Those used to be gimmes.

Adjust your expectations down to Les' performance. And like it.

Those games you say have always been easy, have always been tough even when Saban was here.
Saban lost to Arkansas as well and the SEC to Arkansas when he was here.
The coaches in the SEC are all very good, all can recruit, and all make as much if not more than Miles.
We could have Vince Lombardi and it would be literally impossible to defeat what Saban and Alabama do year and year out with the cream of the crop.
I like the fact that for the first time in a long time, LSU will have Senior leadership and talent, to go along with more depth and an improved passing game that can execute plays to keep defense off of the field.

It will happen one of two ways:

1. The Tiger's don't don't make the playoff, and Les is fired

2. The Tigers make the playoff, and Les gets a raise and 5 year extension

Not retire. No season will be bad enough to get him fired.

They are losing half their production on defense. That's quite a claim.
