Interesting, the majority of this board said it was all coaching.

IMO I'd take any of 2nd teamers on the field this past season before M. Smith. He played hard 2 games in his stay here.
Anything will be better.

The DC compensated for inexperience in the back field by playing soft off the LOS. That blew up in his face due to a lack of pass rush. It may be just me but I hate CB's playing so far off the line.

I'm of the opinion that if you are old enough to grad transfer and choose to do that rather than enter yourself into the NFL draft, you're probably not all that great of a player (as of the time you transfer).

Like Joe Burrow.

Translation: I don't know shite, but I am a chicken little fan so I'll start thread that has already been started a dozen times to show I haven't gotten the sand out yet and can't figure out how.

Not so sure. True, I don’t think we will have a great/dominant defense like we have had in the past.

But we will be significantly better in 2024.

1. We actually have a good defensive coaching staff that will will be able put players in better spots to succeed.

2. Lots of young guys got experience last season and that will make them better.

Our talent on defense was a lot better than our shitty defensive staff led us to believe. I think we at the very least play a lot better than we did.

We were 105th last season.

Can I get atleast 80th this year? Maybe i can hold my lunch down while watching the defense.

Let the process work itself out before folding like an old chair. There is no way of knowing what the spring portal will be like ...............AND NOW WE HAVE D-LINE COACHES that are solid recruiters..........

So you’re one of those guys that thinks players can’t improve? Sounds like Rantards’ takes on JD5 last offseason.

Allowing any kind of pass rush will be a huge improvement from what we saw most of last year, and we at least have the personnel for that.

Well, I say that because if we don't get any we will have like 4-5 total DT's for next season at that point if none are added and none come back.
