Really was an amazing play. Incredible he got the ball off at all, much less that it was perfectly accurate.

After Burrow, he's the player from this team I'll miss the most.

Much like 07 with Jacob Hester.

These are what we call "football players". They have that it factor.

The moment where Heisman voters said, "let's make room for the new guy."

Also, kudos to CEH for a huge blitz pickup that allowed Burrow to step up and make the play.

ETA: If somehow we're fortunate enough to get into that situation on Saturday...I'd pay OT baller $$$ to have Coach Wade call a TO with LSU leading Texas 45-38.

That play confirmed for me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we had “elite talent” on the field. I KNEW we were special.

Just watching this team have a double digit lead with less than 3:00 to go on every single opponent was amazing.

It was good tv production having a camera on Coach McConaughey instead of the head Coaches Herman or Orgeron. Spectacular work by the network! Should get an Emmy nod.

Little did we know at the time....

Obviously easy to say now, but that play (as many have already said) identified and predicted that team going forward.

OL blocking
RB picking up the blitz
WR working the field and getting open while the QB scrambles
QB poise, finding room through the rushers/blockers to extend the play and wait for his receiver and then accurate throw on the run in the face of a defender.

That play was the season all wrapped up in 1. Oline play, rb play/blitz pickup, movement in the pocket, receivers continuing to work to be open and the knockout punch at the end. What a great season.

Sitting in the upper deck that day, my initial thought after the play was, “ this could be a special QB & team”. The rest is history. The rest of the season, I never blinked at 3rd & long. :-)

Ignored is the total team effort - the OL did just enough, the backs and receivers did just enough, and Joe was Joe.

3rd and 17 is a very low percentage play probably 5% or 6% if that.

Same here. Does anyone know off hand or know where we might be able find just how many 3rd and 15+ we converted this year?

I remember several. Id like to see the numbers.
