the fail was expecting things to go smoothly after making a 59 year old tight end's coach the QB coach. You seriously think he has the mind to know how to utilize LN?
The armchair coaches on this board know how to utilize LN but Ensminger doesn’t?? That’s just stupid

I just wish we had a true freshman qb who we could be developing now and who could be a failsafe if Burrow and Brennan turn ankles in the same season.

Yeah I was going to say it was a gigantic fail, but then got burrow, now you lose two guys and it ends up being an epic fail still.
Ed sucks.
Ed sucks.

Huge failure bcuz surely if Burrow and Brennen go down our true freshmen QB will come in and win ten games. Or we have a good starter for two years in Burrow and Then Brennen and then Parish will be in his 3 year. Our qb room is still in great shape chicken littles.

it is best (for them) that both McMillan and Narcisse transferred... both were going to see very little playing time this year!
we play some strong, ranked teams early. Especially if the line doesn't hold up, we could be down a QB or even two, by the midpoint of the season. If Narcisse were to have come in and stopped the bleeding, and then led us to a bowl and won it, he'd have the job pretty much in hand going forward.

Probably true, but it misses the point.
Ohio State beat bama on the way to a national championship because they had a third string qb step up.
Even if not for this year, you need a qb in development behind your first two.
Aside from all that, is it really that controversial to say that LSU should have had a qb in their 2018 class and not getting one was a major fail?
Its not they planned not to get one. They three identified three or four qbs they wanted and whiffed on all of them.

Its a failure because you dont have a guy getting ready for the future. We arent winning 10 games this year anyway.
Brennan cant gain wieght, i dont see him as a legit option for after burrow.

Burrow? I would prefer Burrow.

Ya know...nobody forced those to cats to leave the program. Ed didn't twist their arms.
But of course...there has to be blame to go around and finger pointing right.
Why don't you go frick yourself with a hot poker k???

Clemson had 2 transfer in the spring but they also have good depth still

Not getting a qb in the 2018 class became a bigger fail today.
It wasn't a NEED. We have good ones coming next year.
Nobody has a crystal ball into seeing 2 QB's transfer the same day.
Good riddance to them.
Now our Offense will practice with consistancy and should see strides of improvement.

You need to sign a QB every year
Do you know anything?

I was answering your question of who I prefer. You want a different answer ask a different question.

Losing Lowell and McMillian is irrelevant for 2018
Say what??? While a rare exception to the rule, it took a 3rd string QB for tOSU to win a natty.

Now you're looking at a major question mark at QB in 2020.
So you’re expecting Brennan to transfer or bolt for the NFL before his SR year?
I don’t get your takes at all.

Ensminger was a college and pro qb who has also coached qb’s the majority of his career. I’m sure he knows a little about the position.

I get what you're saying, ideally you do want a QB in every class. However, don't forget that if we had signed a QB in the 2018 class we would not have had a scholarship to give to Burrow and he'd be in Cincinnati and our depth chart would be...
McMillian
Brennan/Narcisse
Narcisse/Brennan
True Freshman
I'll take our current situation over this one.
Blessing in disguise.

Call me a smartass, but then you ask a smartass question. Of course I would prefer Rodgers over the non-existent quarterback that wasn't signed. I would prefer Rodgers over a lot of QBs that a lot of other schools did sign.
But I happen to be very familiar with Rodgers and his injury. It was horrible and many people think he may not make a return to his former abilities. I hope he does. Regardless, he wouldn't play this year and my point stands: Rodgers would not change the fact that LSU would only have two available scholarship QBs for the 2018 season.

Solid call though.

I never said he wouldn't recover. He will and will play again. The question is if he will return to his original form. You don't know that. His mother doesn't know that. His coaches don't know that. He doesn't know that.
I hope he does.
However, I shouldn't have brought it up, because it detracts from the original point. Rodgers isn't playing this year and would not help the current QB situation.
He didn't want to go to LSU, so it's a moot point to begin with.
