Can't confirm if Trent told CT2 he was no longer needed, but it's probable, b/c Collis doesn't like the guy. As a person. Plus, he disagrees with most of his coaching philosophy. Trent's "no pros" stance is something CT2 finds stupid, plus Trent doesn't win.
It's personal and professional. I'm sure Daddy Dale and the powers that be want Collis to play nice so the program doesn't look bad, but he doesn't want to.

What good would that do?

CT doesn't like TJ for whatever reason and shouldn't be a little bitch about it in public, granted. However, he is not getting paid by LSU an can do whatever he wants to do. So him telling kids not to go to LSU really isn't a big deal. Not like there aren't a thousand people saying their school is better anyways.
yes, he can and he is. my point was it says a lot about him. if he's doing this, it is very sad and pathetic on his part. he doesn't have to help trent, he doesn't have to be working against lsu either.

geeze, are you that big of a dumbass that you can't read? or you don't know what knowing it all means?
i put in bold "if he's doing this", read that again and please tell me how that means, "i know he is"

New coach comes in. Powers That Be (PTB) exert influence they have been exerting for years. New coach tells PTB that things are different now. PTB has hissy fit.
You guys act surprised. This exact same thing happens all over the place when a new coach comes in. The main difference is that apparently at other schools the PTB suck it up for the good of the school, as opposed to being big pussies about it.

I think with TJ losing out on those two JC recruits lately hasnt soften his stance. I understand he probably wanted to come in and make his stamp on the program but at this point he is staring at a third year of losing so he wants to at least try to get some help with the local talent that will be avail in 2012.

Trent was hired to rebuild a program and win games- so far we have seen little evidence this is going to happen in the near future. Some thought this year would be better- it was not. Some think next year will be better- if it is not significantly better- TJ is a gone pecan.
CT has nothing to do with LSU winning or losing. He is a alumni who loves basketball. LSU is full of alums who support sports.
I for one hope TJ turns it around. I hate to think we will have dropped many mils on a coach that took us further down. Let's hope next year is the turn around year

but I don't blame Trent
If you care about the program you would......
Why? Because Trent is supposed to make room for CT's ego? That's part of his job requirement at LSU?

Not really.

don't doubt this may have been said. but what would provoke someone to make this statement? it's never one sided.
Garrett graduated that's what provoked it. Face it you TJ blowhards he is the wrong guy for this job and has pretty much confirmed it. Trent Johnson is a terrible coach, recruiter and PR guy. We just lost two recruits to one school who didn't even have a coach three weeks ago and another one to NEBRASKA. As far as people getting kicked to the curb if you people do not think there are longtime loyal supporters at every school in the country you are an idiot. One of the first things TJ does is tell about 25 guys who have supported LSU for a very long time to take a hike, just shows his ignorance and stubborness, doesn't look like his way is working very well. His arrogance has showed and is blowing up in his face, for him not to fire one coach yet should tell everyone what we got. This ship has sunk with this guy, so for you three or four guys who still think he can get it done, keep dreaming. I can also tell you this Daddy Dale is setting the hook for Johnny Jones behind the scenes....go figure.

There are two sides to every story. I'm sure there was a beef of some sort, although I don't believe JR33's version of it. He claims he was also kicked to the curb by TJ, which raises Trent up a notch in my book.
Believe what you want BUBBA, as a new coach why would he kick anyone to the curb. Put that in your bottom feeder notch.

TJ took players that Brady got fired coaching and won the SEC with them ... the guy can coach .. look at his fricking Stanford and Nevada track record .. maybe TJ wants to run a clean program and not play the $A$A$U$ game ...

CT is a crook in cahoots with your boy glasper anyway
collis likely got pissed off when he pushed for a minority hire, but not the minority he wanted....Jones. Typical.

You can't win by not playing that game-ESP not in the south.
Posted on 4/15/11 at 8:24 pm to TigahRag
To be fair there was no Taz, a hurt Chris Johnson, and a not quite developed Marcus Thornton on the team Brady got fired with.
Posted on 4/15/11 at 8:25 pm to BilJ
well sure .. JJ would be happy to show CT "appreciation" for hand delivering players to him .. some blind, oblivious mofos in this thread ..
Posted on 4/15/11 at 8:28 pm to The Boat
Thornton was just fine .. who developed him ? what about Randolph ?

LSU probably wins the SEC in 09 no matter who coaches them.
Because that team was stacked and the SEC was down.
