Agree on vandy not belonging in the sec as well as rocky top being played nonstop.

Nashville is still a nice town although it’s getting overrun by Californians and Chicago folk.

Memphis has some of the best bbq you can find but yes. It is Chicago south in terms of crime.

One thing I will say: Rocky Top is a real place, on the Appalachian Trail on the border between NC and TN. And a TN town actually named themselves Rocky Top, I think they were originally Lake City. But I've heard the song plenty, I'd rather not hear it anymore.

I know this is a joke but I am dead serious when I state this.

Tennessee is the most overrated state in the union.

The “great” smoky mountains are meh IMO. I’d rather go to the Rockies.

The food is boring as hell. “Hot chicken” is just fried chicken smothered in horrible hot sauce. Memphis BBQ doesn’t have shite on Texas BBQ. It’s just ribs smothered in overly sweet BBQ Sauce.

They try to claim to be a musical Mecca. That’s not the case. Memphis rides Mississippi‘s coattails on blues. Anything coming out of Nashville is a joke.

They try to claim this whole “southern” identity when in reality aside from Memphis, the state of Tennessee has more in common with Ohio than it does with Georgia or Mississippi. Middle and Eastern Tennessee were pro union. The whole moonshine/hillbilly culture they push is stolen from West Virginia.

Suck it Tennessee.
