Don’t get emotional Anne. We are having a conversation about facts here.

And the fact is DG didn’t do shite.

I condemn any actions of this sort if the allegations are proven true. It was reported earlier this week that all felony charges against Guice have been dropped. Did the article include that information? Not to take up for Guice, but he is innocent until proven guilty and so is LSU.
that's probably why this article is now being released, or re-released if you prefer.

SO they took the same article published by the same news publication last summer and just rewrote it to tell the same story again in January.
Someone has made that claim. I don't know if that is the case or not. All I know is that it showed up in my news feed as a story released today.

To be fair, the article is referring to his freshman year, which was the last full year Miles was the HC.

The poster is referring to Title IX. And no they did not. So again before national signing day someone feels that the same recycled news should printed. Yes the original USA Today story was in August. The Guice LSU Rape story is at least two years old. So someone in the media is very anti LSU and Orgeron...

The national media went after WW as well.

These are hit pieces

The guy had a lot of fans fooled, including myself. He's a piece of garbage and I hope he is justly punished for his crimes. If it is determined certain LSU employees did not follow proper protocol, they should be fired immediately and prosecuted if any laws were violated. This stuff can't be tolerated under any circumstances!

Settle down Karen...you don't know any more than anyone else. If he did any real crimes....and there is definitive proof...shite will happen.
Stop acting like you know Guice.

Okay, I finally read the article. Both cases are typical of the "rape" cases we hear about these days. Neither woman resisted. Both claimed they were so drunk they "couldn't have" consented.

quote:

Both women told USA TODAY that Guice assaulted them in their apartments after nights of heavy drinking. One woman said Guice showed up uninvited to a party she was hosting, then entered her bedroom while she was sleeping and raped her. The other woman, the tennis player, said Guice raped her when she allowed him into her home after meeting him for the first time at a bar.

“I was drunk and passed out on my bed,” the first woman said. “I never gave him consent. I never wanted to have sex with him. I don’t even remember except the flashbacks I had. I just wonder sometimes, does he even know that that was wrong?”

It sounds like Guice almost certainly took advantage of at least these two drunk girls. Did he rape them? By their own accounts it's hazy.

And what was LSU supposed to do with this? A court of law would not be able to convict Guice on that evidence. Was LSU supposed to kick him out of school just because he was accused?

The most suspicious thing about the articles are when they were released.

Under Title IX guidelines as many are applying them- yes, that's the expectation (of many outsiders looking in)

The expectation, as opposed to the word you used- "supposed to", is just that. I'm not saying I agree with that; but it is the reality of the situation. That is embedded in the "believe the accuser" phrase.

Now, at first glance it appears there was at least some of the process not followed here AND Guice has done, at a bare minimum, things worthy of harsh punishment so that's a and the issue. The real issue. If true some heads should certainly roll.

But if the process was followed to a T, the expectation of the world around us as it exists today is that Guice would have been kicked off the team and out of LSU upon an accusation. THAT is what the world around us want and expect Title IX as it applies to violence against women to exactly do. Title IX doesn't allow for innocent until proven guilty.

Where are the fathers of these rape victims?

Surely they know a black football player raped their daughter...

I think my response would be...righteous anger...

The head coach would hear from me...the AD...the police...

Everyone deserves a fair trial...

But Guice appears to have too much smoke coming from his direction
