We were averaging 4 losses a year from 14-16 (3 in the two previous years...not exactly elite).

Let’s see... against the #2-5 SOS in 2015 Miles went 9-3 with a cancellation of the McNeese St game.
2016, Miles lost to Wisky at Lambeau and at AU. AU by a fraction of a sec actually. He didn’t coach after that. ZERO did.

ZERO lost 4 games against the worse schedule we faced in the last 15 years. It was ranked in the 30’s. WORSE
I do agree Miles shoukd have been forednfor not honoring his part of the bargain. O SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN HIRED. He didn’t earn it and is INCOMPETENT as you said. He needs firing NOW.

I totally agree...doesn't discount the fact we were not peaking before he was hired.

Exactly.

Anyone who doesn’t like Coach O (specifically his rise to LSU’s coach) is an a-hole. He saw his opening that year and went for it, and did damn well his interim year. Saved the season, much better teams have fallen apart over less happening midseason. Classic underdog story, and a guy chasing his dream as hard as he could. Fault Alleva if you have to, but don’t hate Coach O, he was just chasing his dream job.

Agree the decline started pre-O.

But when are looking to put out the fire and rebuild you don’t hire a guy to toss gas on the fire who has never successfully built or rebuilt anything.

Should this surprise anyone after the Miles misfire fire? I understand that sometimes people just aren't a good match for the job and you only come to realize that after you take the position. That said, Alleva should have already stepped down (or fired). How bad does it have to get? We're past the point of no return. Bad precedents have been set. Alleva is a total embarrassment. His hiring methodology is alarming, and he acts with total approval from a timid Board of Supervisors. F. King is the cherry on top.

Hook, line, and sinker

2016:

W- Missouri 4-8 (2-6)
W- Southern Miss 7-6 (4-4 CUSA)
W- Ole Miss 5-7 (2-6)
L- Alabama 14-1 (8-0)
W- Arkansas 7-6 (3-5)
L- Florida 9-4 (6-2)
W- Texas A&M 8-5 (4-4)

5 wins over mediocre/bad teams that couldn’t stop the run to save their lives and losses to both good (I use the term loosely for Florida) teams we played, both in Tiger Stadium.

He saved the season!!!! Give that man 3.5 million!!!

Oh, a historically awful September in his first year as HC?? Don’t worry, he’ll SAVE THE SEASON AGAIN!!!

2017:
W- Florida 4-7 (3-5 HC fired)
W- Auburn 10-4 (7-1)
W- Ole Miss 6-6 (3-5 interim coach)
L- Alabama 13-1 (7-1)
W- Arkansas 4-8 (1-7 (HC fired)
W- Tennessee 4-8 (0-8 interim coach)
W- Texas A&M 7-6 (4-4 HC fired)

He saved the season again!!!

This fricking oaf has one good SEC win in 14 games, 1-3 against teams with winning conference records, and the worst loss to MSU in history to a 4-4 SEC team with two more two score losses to Alabama and a meltdown to Simple Mac at home and we’re supposed to buy him as some sort of savior??

Once the SEC gets back to being even respectable, which the massive coaching turnover should make happen very quickly, everyone will understand how fricked we are. And when Aranda leaves, we better really fricking hope and pray

LSU has a single (1) coach still on the staff from that memorable 1/9/12 game.... He now runs our offense.

There seems to be no real effort to restore the program to a championship level. The notion that so many people are in this "comfort zone" is alarming.

Went to the Fairgrounds the other day. Put my money on a horse that ran 5th three consecutive times. Figure he was due. He ran 5th.

O gonna O. It's not complicated.

Agreed. The fact that they celebrate it is what is even worse.

Great and well thought out post. None of us like the O hire but we need to quit bitching and get 100% behind the team. The shite show will sort itself out over time. Go Tigers!!

Your post is expressing something that has not yet dawned on everybody - especially the rah-rah crowd that refuses to acknowledge reality.

But I refuse to dump all of this schit going on with the program in his lap.

Regardless of what you believe, the program was beginning to circle the drain a year or two before O got here.

So if a man is in hospice dying of cancer and someone walks in and shoots him dead, does the shooter bear no fault for the death since the man was dying anyway?

this implies SOME of the mess is O's fault....come on dude.

My point was some posters want to paint a rosy picture when describing the situation when O took over. It wasn't bad...but it also wasn't great...or we wouldn't have canned Miles.
