2016 he was interim HC and turned the team that had lost 2 of its first 4 games around and got it back on the winning track and saved the team from imploding that season.

Hook, line, and sinker

2016:

W- Missouri 4-8 (2-6)
W- Southern Miss 7-6 (4-4 CUSA)
W- Ole Miss 5-7 (2-6)
L- Alabama 14-1 (8-0)
W- Arkansas 7-6 (3-5)
L- Florida 9-4 (6-2)
W- Texas A&M 8-5 (4-4)

He saved the season!!!! Give that man 3.5 million!!!

quote:

2017 was his first full season. Which the team stumbled big time out of the gates, a lot of it due to key injuries, suspensions, transfers, lack of depth on the lines and a sputtering offense that was to complicated and to much to soon for our players. Once again, instead of imploding, like so many on here said was going to happen with many predicting they wouldn't win another game, he got the team back on track.

quote:

Oh, a historically awful September in his first year as HC?? Don’t worry, he’ll SAVE THE SEASON AGAIN!!!

2017:
W- Florida 4-7 (3-5 HC fired)
W- Auburn 10-4 (7-1)
W- Ole Miss 6-6 (3-5 interim coach)
L- Alabama 13-1 (7-1)
W- Arkansas 4-8 (1-7 (HC fired)
W- Tennessee 4-8 (0-8 interim coach)
W- Texas A&M 7-6 (4-4 HC fired)

He saved the season again!!!

14 SEC games and he’s played four games against teams that had winning conference records, 1-3 in those games.

He doesn’t “turn seasons around”. He shuts the bed until he gets to the mediocre/bad teams in a historically down SEC.

O is easily worse than Miles

miles never had a schedule that easy and lost 4 games.

miles never got beat by 30 by a perennial sec doormat

miles never lost to a mid major

miles never lost ooc at home

at this point all o has proven is that his best season is on par with Miles' worst seasons.

at least you actually give a record though. most O fans wont.

Yeah because the administration was clearly willing to support Miles in any way possible!! Les Miles clause anyone??

I’m sure you were equally accepting of Miles’ salary and never complained about his compensation, right?

Just think of the goal post moving that some of our fans have done for O?

Miles couldnt get credit for winning a national title because it was Saban's recruits but O gets credit for NOT continuing to lose to inferior teams.

its literally one of the main selling points by the O lovers.

we are supposed to tout O because he stopped losing to inferior teams.

what has happened to my program?

Joe Alleva has happened....
Fking has happened.....
Letting Saban go to the NFL has happened.....
Les miles staying too long has happened....
Hiring O has happened.....

This about sums it up.

yes we are worse off. the best we can hope for under O is the worst seasons we had under Miles.
at least Miles could recruit for his own program so when he left we would still have an elite roster. O has never been an elite recruiter for his own program.

the part that really kicks lsu fans in the teeth is knowing that it couldve been lsu winning titles instead of Alabama had saban not left. i dont think we wouldve won as many as bama just because our state govt and school administration isnt all in on cfb like alabama but there is no way you can convince me that we wouldnt have at least 2-3 more national titles since saban left.

Hell, we’d have two more minimum if he still left but just stayed in the NFL or just didn’t land in our conference and division.

2011 and 2012 are pretty much a given.

2006 is another obvious contender but we didn’t really miss out on that one due to defense.

2013 may be even more likely because no way the D collapses like it did if Saban was still around. Assuming those same offensive players are Tigers, that’s an NC team with Saban in BR instead of playing against him in Tuscaloosa.

But yeah it’s a fair statement to think Saban was good for another one somewhere if he never leaves BR.

But it’s also easy to forget Saban in BR was not the same Saban at Bama. LSU wasn’t some terminator program destroying the SEC.

Maybe he evolved after the humble pie of the NFL but honestly it’s just the system he was able to implement at Alabama with a blank check, something he wouldn’t have had here.

He was always a great coach. Going to Alabama made him the GOAT.

its because lsu isnt all in on cfb. at one point bama's recruiting budget was 8 times what lsu's was.

to many variables for me to put into numbers. I just have to watch the team. I want to see improvement in discipline, organization, and execution on the field. I want to see better offense that keeps defenses off balance and makes better use of our skill players. I want to see a hard hitting defense gang tackling, and playing tough and aggressive, like LSU defenses were known for. I want to see improvement out of our special teams units. If we make improvements, and battle it out tooth and nail, then the wins will come and we will quickly be back in the hunt for the playoffs and be back in the NC conversation. We need to get back to being relevant again. LIke I said, to many variable to put it in a specific won/loss record, but when other teams start fearing to play us once again, then we are back.

Oh no, say it ain't so. You're one of those that can't say at what point you'll hold Orgeron accountable?

exactly the opposite. If the team isn't playing better than it was last season then he would need to go, but I can't just pin that on a won/loss record, to many variables for that. Once he took over as the interim HC in 2016 the team immediately looked better. Much better execution of the offense, and a better called offense and better on D as well. Team just looked better organized. Then 2017 had some plusses and minuses. Offense looked worse for the most part until it started looking better. Defense looked bad early in the season but got much better once depth starting returning to the d line. Once Orgeron got on Canadas arse and once the freshman 0lineman started getting up to speed, the offense got better and once the dline got some key guys back, the D started to play much better (until the bowl game).
I hold Coach O accountable for continuing improvement on both sides of the ball and special teams in 2018. If he does that, keep him another year, if not, get rid of him and try someone else.

for the people who say Orgeron has never been known to be a good recruiter, I don't know where you are getting that from, It's the exact opposite. I know someone said when he was a HC, but the only other time he was a HC was at Ole Miss, which your just not going to get a lot of top recruits there, no matter who you are, unless you break the rules (Freeze)
