Sometimes it's crazy to think how good this dude was. An old highlight of the West Virginia game in 2011 popped up. He literally set us up for the first 20 something odd points.

I've never seen a defensive player make more game-changing plays on defense and special teams in my life.

It seemed like he was in every single play. I’ve never seen a DB have such an impact on every single game in more than just coverage.

Dude was a freaking Monster! We had 27-7 lead at halftime. He was responsible for setting us up with 20 of those points.

The Honey Badger was the single most dominant defensive player I’ve ever seen on a college football field. He took over every game he played in.

Same here - never seen any defensive player who carried a higher "points on the board" value, especially considering he did it every possible way - special teams returns, fumbles/forced fumbles and INTs.

You could have blindfolded that kid and he would still have had a chance to make a play on the ball - instincts that cannot be taught.

The tip and interception that he took to the one yard line is one of my favorite plays ever...

No one in the history of college football had a combined impact on defense and special teams as he had that season.

He should have won the Heisman if they go by the true definition of the award.

He should have won the Heisman that year.

No defensive player has ever changed the outcome of games like the HB.

The thing that set him apart is his high level of awareness of where the ball is at all times. I have seen other players that can make big plays that result in turnovers, but none that were able to cause the turnover and recover it themselves as often as he did.

He was as good as anybody physically but he had a mental edge in college. Similar to Josh Reed. Made plays instead of just doing his job.

In 7 seasons in the NFL, TM7 has played in 98 games including a Super Bowl victory. His stats are:

Tackles.....401
Assists......56
Total.......457
Sacks.........9
Ints..........17
P Def........61
Forc Fum......4
Fum Recv......2
Def TD........1

Not too bad for a guy who is 5'9" and was considered a "malcontent" coming out of college. Geaux Honey Badger!

It’s really strange when you think back how good that team was and how much they (Les) benefitted from TM7’s knack at scoring and setting up scores. It was pretty apparent how much Les relied on that scoring ability the following season when TM7 got booted.

On a related but underrated note, Brad Wing to him and Ron Brooks that year was like they were playing catch at times. Never seen anything like it between a punter and his gunners.

He was uniquely great, but nothing you wrote here is true.

If you really want your mind blown, take just 5 minutes and imagine the 2011 defense with the 2019 offense on the same team! You'll be useless for the rest of the day.

2011 was probably the most impressive individual season for a defensive player I’ve ever seen.

He was making a game changing play almost every game.

It was incredible.
