Not that it matters, but I tend to agree with you. Problem is, most fans at this point, both LSU and Auburn (and the rest of college football who will occasionally parrot it) have no idea how that got started and were not around to see it start. Without any reference point for how idiotic the name is, and how it was 100% lifted from another fan base where it ACTUALLY did make sense, LSU fans complaining about it just seems petty.
Not sure I'd go so far as promote it, but trying to explain it away at this point is useless.
Kudos to the dumbfrick AU fan that did it, despite his shitty plagiarism...it makes no sense at all and yet stuck like glue for nearly 20 years.

We actually embrace it, as stupid as it is.
Just shows the difference in culture between folks in Baton Rouge and well, for example, Austin.
I literally don’t know a single LSU fan who is offended by being called corn dog.

I have an oral fixation. Started with cigarettes, graduated to vapes, now I have a nicotine lozenge in my mouth 80% of the time.
There was some chewing tobacco mixed in but never a staple.
It’s not about the nicotine entirely. Gotta have something in my mouth. My wife loves it because she loves it when I suck her tits, which IMHO, gets back to the root of where it all started.

From what I remember while at LSU, the whole “corndog” nickname came from a SEC school(can’t remember, could be Auburn) coming to Death Valley and saying it smelled like corn dogs. Thus all of our students were “corndogs” because we all must smell like the stadium at all times.
That’s only the reason I can think of, for the origin of the “corndog” moniker and that was around like 2011ish.
I don’t really recognize that as a nickname, because I don’t really think Death Valley smells like corndogs.
Just what my spotty memory can come up with....

Saw him at GameDay in Austin. It seemed like even the Texas fans had a laugh and were making conversation with him over the sign.
