The SEC also wasn't 5 teams in the top 10 and 12 in the top 25 back then either. There were usually 3 or 4 ranked teams. South Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State were all garbage year after year.

I believe a lot a ranters would have preferred that LSU lose their last two and go 6-6, if they could have only wore their beloved traditional uniforms.
As it turned out, 8-4 is really no different from 6-6 for this team: we probably would have gone to the Texas Bowl and play Baylor either way

There were five SEC teams in the final top-25 poll in '96 and 6 teams in '97. It wasn't as dominant then as now but it was still the premier conference. It also only had 12 teams having added Arky and USCe in '92.
OM had Tuberville and State Sherill. They had competitive teams.

The 247 Team Talent Composite isn't available for 2014 but they were #5 in 2015, likely top 5 in 2014 as well.
How did the 247 site score Dak, Chad Kelly, and Nick Marshall as compared to AJ and BH?

Prescott was 3 star, 87
Chad Kelly was a 4 star, 95
Nick Marshall was a 4 star, 92
Anthony Jennings was a 4 star, 90
Brandon Harris was a 4 star, 96

Well, okay, Sherrill and Tubs had fairly decent teams, i was thinking post both of them, but that was probably closer to the 00's.
Man what i wouldn't give to be able to go to back then for one Saturday of football games. Even if it is the JP sports game of the week in standard definition.

We just left out he won the West and 10 games and then won 10 games and produced a Heisman in between. Damn you for making me defend Kelly btw.

Damn. Even the BK supporters can’t defend this.
Help me out with this, and no, I'm not going to respond to this with anything even if I had something to come back with lololol.
There's still a significant enough percentage of folks whom have never supported BK because they think Orgeron should still be the coach.
Just making sure you understand that you're looped in with those idiots.

I love this OP so much!
Only cost us 30M in head coaching salary, so far. This doesn't count overpaying shitheads like Matt House.
And who coaches special teams? LOLLOLOLOL

With all the SEC playing mediocre and Saban gone, I think this was the year for BK to shine! He shite the bed.

You also think someone with a dick is a woman and can give birth. You call anyone who doesn't believe this a bigot.
With that, who gives a frick what your retarded arse thinks?

Hard to argue. You hired a CEO coach who fricked up all his initial hires and wasn't prepared for the new recruiting landscape.

If you would have told me we wouldn’t make the 12 team playoff before the start of this year I would have said you’re crazy. Even BK said by year we should get there, and with a bit more margin for error I figured we would make it. I know money is driving most of these kids to leave, but I fear that there are still some who factor in the state of the program and this year didn’t do us any favors.

Well no one believes that. I think you’re a bigot because you clearly hate people.
As always go frick your self

Truly amazing job by BK.

This part of the thread was comparing the first three seasons of the DiNardo era with BK's.
When that's being done, some downplay the quality of the SEC in the 90s. I attempted to show that while it wasn't as dominant then as now, it was still the best conference. It also had less teams (12 vs 16 now) so a top-25 will likely have more SEC teams in it than then. Finally, we played an 8-game schedule then as well.
No need to dilute what Gerry did his first three seasons. They brought back the magic. But he made some critical mistakes (foremost being Tepper) that led to his demise.
