Probably would. I'm not convinced he would have any better record here than Mainieri does.
He doesn't have to spend as much scholarship money on pitching as we do, since the state of Florida produces so much more than the state of Louisiana. So he would be working with more scarcity.

The fact of the matter is that since 2008, Florida has won 1 CWS title. If O’Sullivan had the exact same record at LSU, the morons on the rant including bfniii would be calling for his head on a daily basis just like they do CPM.
It wouldn’t matter how often the team is getting to Omaha or how they perform there. The only thing that would matter is that 1 win. Any of the idiots who says otherwise, including bfniii, is being disingenuous at best.
I don’t think anyone is pleased with the current state of the LSU program but mindlessly posting w/l records in Omaha with no context and completely ignoring/disregarding any other measure of success is simply moronic.

It has been 11 years since LSU baseball won a national championship. That is unacceptable for a program that puts 10,000 fans per game in the seats.
And don’t talk to me about parity. Parity exists until a program becomes dominant, like LSU baseball in the 90s or Bama football under Saban. LSU dominated college baseball once. Its fans still dominate in attendance. The program still dominates in revenue. That dominance should be reflected on the field.

Has our program slipped? Yes. D1 baseball dropped LSU 1 spit in the most recent top 100 programs ranking making us the 4th rated program in the league.
Taking this season into consideration alone however I’m bullish on this team. The crazy number of freshmen contributors will only get better from here and I believe we have one of the top 2-3 pitching staffs in America

It was a comment to you saying lsu is the nations leader in attendance or that we actually have 10,000 people in the stands. That maybe the case for regionals, but not before. And if actual attendance were still kept, i doubt we would be #1
