UF. Take Johnny out if game. Force threes.

LSU stop guards.

Much easier for the best coaches team in the country.

All yr long LSU has been a pretender. But, they show enough flashes of what their capable of that they give you hope.
Well this is one last chance to prove this team is worthy of the dance.
I think they show up big. Will that be enough to win, i dont know. But I think its a battle to the end.

A win today could just be such a momentum push too te end and we have the guns but that home court advantage is always tough too deal with and always has been for ever. Just hope and pray we can jump on them early and please god don't let Johnny get two quick fouls or were done. Cause the way Coach jones sits people for the entire half with 2 fouls, I don't think we could match young

Yeah, Tiga....Odo, bless him, looks totally lost when he comes in to spells JOB3, and while Mickey blocks alot of help side shots, he and Martin have a long way to go in learning on ball D and blocking out.

JOB can't get in foul trouble.

It's GAMEDAY!
Hoping Tigers saving their best for Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery.

Need good passing, no stupid fouls, Hickey's #1 in SEC Assist/TO ratio, Mickey's 92 blocks, JOB kicking it out when he's doubled, Stringer's .402 3-pt percentage, another double figure scoring game from Jarell, strong play from Shavon and "Garrett Temple-like" defense from Quarterman.

We'll need some onions today to take this one.

I think curbing the turnovers is big. Mostly our TO's have been generated by Mickey and JOB3 this year, but Florida's full court pressure will test our guards like no other team. Protect the ball and we give ourselves a chance. Pure and simple.

That's it? So you say there is a chance.

I will be watching and hoping LSU plays lights out. I will be proud if we even get it down to the wire and lose, but if I were a betting man, I would put my money on UF to win (straight up). Just being realistic.

Good analysis of what we have to do today.

I would add setting good screens and defending screens, communicating on that to each other the whole time.
Also, no bone head plays and lazy passes from TQ - please don't lob a no-look pass to a player that's not looking Tim!
All players yell to Jarrell and tell him where to be.
And as I said earlier in this thread, have our guards alternately stick to Wilbekin like glue - whether tall or short, need to use their speed.

It's going to be hard for us to be up against such an experienced # 1 seed. They play 4 snrs and a soph, who've been to the Dance numerous times and know how to win. The only fr.getting much playing time comes off the bench as a reserve.

Want the Tigers to win, but would be happy if they played hard, kept it close, and scored more than the 54points teams average against FL in Gainesville. Want FL to lose a bit of confidence going into Tourney - but of course, they won't.

LSU should beg Florida to press them. There's no one on their (or any other team in the SEC) that can keep Hickey in front of them. We've all seen it. LSU just isn't a well coached team. However they are athletic, and their big wings can get down the court. The less you force LSU to make fundamental basketball plays, the more you allow their athletes to make things happen.

I like Hickey bringing the ball down the court.

Gators are not No.1 without reason, so it's a monster task to beat the No. 1 team in the country on their home court, in March.

Not a big Verne fan, but I hope we hear a couple of "Oh My" from Verne, when Mickey swats away the ball.

My two least favorite announcers. They will be pulling for UF to win and calling the game through blue and orange glasses.

Good Lord. It's truly amazing how many announcers "hate LSU". Bill Raftery calls LSU games about once every six years. That's a lot of hate to harbor for so long. It's also truly a gift that Verne can simultaneously love and hate every single team in the SEC.

* In the first week in December, the Gators lost by 18 at Florida State, by 30 at Illinois and in a rare early SEC opener had a freshman from LSU named Chris Jackson drop 53 on them at the O’Dome.

One of the greatest performances I have ever seen by a Tiger basketball player.

I don't like Verne in football but actually do like him in basketball. Weird that the game he's calling makes a difference.
