You people will bitch about anything.
No shite! WGAF what it looks like........you now have the option to buy/drink a beer while inside the stadium. Its a temporary loophole untill the SEC allows drinking in the stadium......

There's a fine line between bitching and expecting quality. I don't think a lot of the responses have been exactly out of line with what people know LSU has the resources to accomplish.

What else should they have to meet an acceptable level of quality under the circumstances? I'm not trying to flame. I'm genuinely curious. I personally don't pay attention to the fanciness of signage or decor when I just want to grab a beer or two at a ballgame.

quote:TBH the ULL baseball stadium setup is nicer than this. With that being said, I didn't expect some grand new bar in this area (Especially not this year). At some point could they dress this area up? Sure. But I never expected it to be a premier area in year one.
I was expecting air conditioned with draft beer taps with 15 different brews similar to Buffalo Wild Wings. Would like some Shock Top or Blue Moon. Looks tacky to me.

I wonder if they're hoping that this is just a temporary solution with the ongoing push for the SEC to change their rules

Looks like something out the Cajuns stadium. Not impressed

Also, stadiums are trying to come up with ideas to keep ppl interested. They will probably look at how schools like WVU handled alcohol in stadiums and make a move then.

Exactly my thoughts.

If the change does happen it will be because of how popular The Chute is at Tiger Stadium. And also to a lesser extent the beer gardens at TAMU and Auburn baseball stadiums.
But make no mistake, if the SEC votes for beer in football stadiums, it will be because of the success at LSU.

dude its just a standing room only area in the stadium that sells beer. it's not even really separated from anything. its like a crevice in some corner of the stadium. it really honestly looks terrible.
with all that said, i'm prolly going to stop by to get a few brews from time to time.

Geez-
They are testing the idea. If it works, they will improve it.
We have plenty enough to back about, this isn't one of them. At least they are trying. If it still looks like this next year, then hammer away

It's not like LSU has been planning this for years as a huge project to be funded by the TAF. They're just trying to give LSU fans what they've begging for - the chance to drink beer at the game.
You can't expect LSU to throw athletic department funds at this when they have no idea how successful it will be. If it's a rousing success, I imagine it will be upgraded in the future.
LSU is trying to give fans what they want. The athletic department deserves some credit for that.

This is exactly what I expected from LSU. Another half-arse done project that looks like it was done on the cheap. It’s better than nothing I supppse

...that's available no where else in the SEC.
Like I said, if the change in rules happens, it will be because of the success of beer sales here at LSU.

Still dumbfounded at how this wasn't called "The Win Bar."
Agreed. Motion to rename bar.

As has been stated multiple times, LSU opted to avoid the word "Bar" in relation to this new premium area.
It's not LSU it's the SEC why not.

If it's already a rousing success why do we need to spend money to improve it?

They are kind of trying and yes I do give them credit. But they continue to ignore the elephant in the room (charging for parking on campus) and the things they are doing are often half assed like this.

I think people have become jaded with the AD because they screw so many things up. Yes I understand your logic and it makes sense, but the AD has been doing so many things in a row that there's a serious pattern of not acting logically. People are cynical and it's not without cause.
