the audition is coaching teams and executing x and o's to see if CEO could be a championship level coach, year in year out and years into the future.

Not whether this super talented team can beat teams it outclasses from the outset.

There should be nothing you've seen that makes you think that CEO is doing anything other than what miles has done in past years. Or should've been doing this year (and last).

ADDITIONALLY, nothing he's done that should discount him.

but all this talk about whether or not he's earning the job by winning these games? these are games LSU should win.

ETA: SO HOW DID O DO?

ETA II: ten points in two losses. hire him.

He has them prepared and he makes adjustments when needed. That's what we have been waiting to see. LSU will outclass 90% of the teams they play, but the bottom line is they have to execute the plan.

He's getting it done so far...period!

Except this team is playing and responding as if coach O really knows what he's doing. They are not just beating teams bro they are setting records against these teams. More explosive plays then I've ever seen from anyone. He's doing a fantastic job no matter who we playing. Did you see this type of team against MS, or Jacksonville State? Nope we didn't, we should have beat Wisconsin and Auburn I don't care what anyone says we played horrible in those two games and still almost beat them away. That tells me something. It may not tell you guys anything but I see a HUGE difference.

Well beating the shite out of teams we should has been an issue as well the last few yrs. This team is obviously different under O. The offense is basically the same but a lot less predictable with more easy throws for QB and small formations changes.

Fournette running all over auburn last year wasn't fun? we ve had games exactly like this in years past. The point is we haven't learned anything.

Upgrade over Miles isn't the audition.

Are you Joe Alleva?
Are you on the Board of Supervisors?
I am trying to figure out how you are the person defining the "audition".
Is Joe going to call you directly to ask if he passed in your eyes?

All these post that make it sound like LSU is going to run a poll of the rant to name the new coach is nuts.

That's all.

Which is all we wanted Miles and Cam to do but they just couldn't get it done so obviously not every coach thinks the same. We have had this ability and more the whole time and nothing was done. That was a huge issue that has now been fixed.

Instead of saying this might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on the Rant, I'm just going to ask you to explain exactly what you mean by this?

Downvote. Ole Miss just isn't any team. They had Alabama on the ropes and should have beaten them.

Almost everyone did not give LSU, but only a 3-point cushion to against this team and only because it was at Death Valley. The score looked closer than what it should have been.

If LSU doesn't have 2 busted plays in the secondary and a costly fumble in the redzone, this game isn't close. Remember, LSU shut down Ole Miss in the second half allowing ZERO points.

I don't know about the audition BS but we win in 2 weeks I think we run the table with this defense. IMO at all cost LSU needs to keep Aranda.

Some games the plan worked the problem was that it was the same plan over and over. I haven't seen the consistency I've seen the past 3 games ever from Miles. I haven't seen the explosive plays from Miles ever. We are basically experimenting right now also. We really don't know what all we can do and can't at the moment. Wait until its second nature and we know exactly what we can and can't do as a team in all phases. We are going to be a damn strong football team.

Also, I truly believe that the talent on this team is now being utilized to it's potential, something I haven't seen in many years.

did LSU not go 9-3 last year? did LSU not beat the SC and Auburn with similar scores (45-21) (44-21) last year on the way of racking up wins to start the season 7-0? did we not think that LSU was the top 3 team in the nation heading into that alabama contest?

when did it all fall apart? it seemed like it all fall apart with 3 straight losses to good SEC teams, teams i don't think we've played just yet. right now, LSU lost to Wisconsin (who's better than we thought) and Auburn (who's better than we thought). yes, we've won 3 games, but how is it so clear that this is not as much fool's gold as starting off the season as they did last year.

i don't see how you guys can say that CEO is a better candidate for the job for making changes and bringing the LSU team up to the level it should've been from the beginning.

and the job isn't about this season, but seasons going forward. it is easy to win the race when you have a faster car than everyone. CEO has a faster car. Miles had to go because he could no longer even in the fast car. the audition is, who is going to keep us in the fastest car or win the race when they have a car as fast as ours.

two caveats: an upgrade over miles only proves that miles should have been let go, not that CEO is the right guy for the job going forward.

we have not seen him tested. and we're in a honeymoon phase with him.

i encourage all tiger fans to think about what happens going forward. and if it takes LSU history for you to understand, mike archer went 10-1-1 in the year after he replaces arnsparger.

That was about the only win last year that we didn't struggle the whole damn game. And that was mainly because Auburn was a dumpster fire. If you can't tell the difference since O took over, you are either blind or your last name is Miles.
