With the exceptions of third and longs

Got to find a way to have your two best players on the field the majority of snaps. Has to be the primary focus during the bye

Take Ali Gaye out and replace him with Ojulari

I agree …he can do more than just rush the passer

Seems like the logical solution

Would put BJ’s hand in the dirt more often than not. I think he would do just fine against the run …

OR

You move Baskerville to Mike and HP40 to Will.

Ojulari has been playing on what seems like 95% of snaps this year. I'm sure he appreciates the break.

I'm so tired of seeing this shite. Do y'all really think he wouldn't be out there all the time if the coaches had faith he could do it? Using him as a Sam on third downs is similar to what aranda did with White his freshmen year. Just give it time.

I saw one half yesterday where Perkins played 10% of snaps, the defense allowed 300 yards and 20 points

I saw another half yesterday where Perkins played 90% of snaps, the defense allowed 70 yards and 0 points

When Kelly talks about 40 being “skemed” out, it’s because he’s limited on position play because he’s prob had busts in practice. He’s still learning. It’s not the coaches not wanting him out there all the time.

He’s a great pass rusher and exceptional athlete is what Kelly said at the presser.

Once he learns how to play their scheme, he won’t come off the field.

Wherein Perkins played on the edge and was used primarily as a pass rusher. Im not saying he shouldn't be on the field, but if you're asking to play him in the inside every single down there is a good chance he won't be as effective right now.

And get the ball run down your throat?

You armchair coaches crack me up. None of the details and requisites - like having to man each position and having to know the plays - matters to you. You’re the same guys whose baseball lineup is the top nine batting averages.

You have one of the top coaches in the game. I promise you he knows what he’s doing. I also promise that you don’t know.

If you load a freshman up with too many packages and assignments he’ll probably be bad at all of them. The coaches will bring this kid along as fast as they can. If it’s not fast enough for you, then you can bet that you are wrong, not Kelly, who has 800 times the experience and far more data than you.

I was about to say, he looked better towards the end of the game. I think he got some needed rest and it helped both kids.

Yes although Gaye probably had one of his better games saturday but would definitely make that move if it keeps Perkins on the field.

disagree, just make a position for him and keep your best players on the field. These guys are paid way too much money to not figure out a way to have BJ and Perkins on the field at the same time.

You are 100% correct. Perkins or #40 as Kiffin calls him has to be on the field he is a special player.

Why not, we did it for stingley his freshman year, and the honey badger his sophmore year.

I’m asking to figure out a way defensively to get your best two players on the field at the same time

Plus Kiffin literally said 3 times in the press conference that #40 was the difference that stopped them.
