Craig’s list is Amazon for poor people.

That's the dumbest shite I've ever heard. I never knew there were idiots as ignorant as yourself in this world.

I've bought $1,000+ film cameras that you can't get brand new anymore on craigslist. It's a lot better to buy that kind of equipment in person via craigslist than to purchase it online. You get a chance to test everything before you hand over the money. You just have to be smart and meet in very public locations like a Starbucks.

There's a hundred different ways to sell a gaming console in 2018. This was amongst the worst.

Made my one and only Craigslist transaction for the Tulane game in 2009 and it went great. Sold two tickets and the guy asked me to meet him at his home in that neighborhood off of Perkins

I'd rather give a bad review than get robbed.

I use facebook Marketplace now.

No more craigslist.

Of course it can still happen, but you can at least somewhat have an idea of the person coming.

Only odd thing to happen was an Army wife with a deployed husband wanted me to come back by and 'visit' sometime. I bragged about it here and my girlfriend read the post. Fail.

I lol'd again.

Clyde was smart enough to follow the #2 rule, which is always bring someone with you.

This is the result of players selling their gifts to try and make a buck. It’s crazy to me that they are even allowed that given the rules on other things.

Shame someone is dead.

If he didn’t sell his PS4 that guy would have pulled the same thing on somebody else who is selling their PS4.

Did any white dudes do this?

Never ceases to amaze me the hoops some folks jump through to defend LSU guys at all costs in these situations when they’d be shiteing all over someone in other colors for the same thing.

Well maybe those that host and sponsor these bowl games will give players cash or preloaded visa cards or something they can use versus needing to sell.

“Needing” to sell is a bit of s stretch. These guys aren’t going hungry. I don’t believe the money he was going to collect would have gone to sustenance or rent. As a matter of fact, those are covered by his scholarship.

These guys aren’t going hungry.

I've bought and sold furniture/appliances using CL.
I sold a PA system for $3200 when my band dissolved. The buyer was from Tulsa and I'm about an hour from there. The buyer kept calling me saying he was going to be later and later, until his arrival was going to be after dark. I grew suspicious and called two buddies over for back up, just in case (both Marines).

I texted the buyer and straight up told him that I thought it was suspicious that he was delaying, and that I had called in some security, so if he was planning some dumb shite to just turn around and go home.

He texted back assuring me that he was serious. So I asked him how many people were coming with him and he said himself and two others, and that they had been so delayed because they had to wait to borrow their bosses construction van.

When they arrived I was outside my garage with the door still closed and my 1911 in my waistband in the small of my back, as usual. They introduced themselves and we shook hands and I asked to look in the back of the van to make sure they had enough room (yeah, that wasn't the real reason but I had to make sure nobody else was back there). It was empty.

So I hit the garage door button and my buddies were sitting inside with their AR's leaned up against the wall next to them. I've never in my life seen 3 Mexican dudes eyes get so big Buyer looks it me and says, "g@ddamn Holmes, you fricking did bring security!"

Turns out the dudes were pretty cool. I hooked one of my axes up to the PA to show them that it actually worked, and we ended up having a beer with them before they headed out

But, you just never know. And I'm naturally paranoid and suspicious so there aren't many times I take chances in today's fricky world.

I have made multiple sales on CL.
Don't know that I have ever bought anything.

I always do the transaction at my home, outside and ask my neighbor to be on his porch as well.

I have never had an incident or have dealt w anyone like that. Some items just can not be shipped w-out huge effort and expense.

Do not do guns or jewelry FOR PURCHASE or SALE. I can see those being riskier. CL is just like any other place. The majority of people are OK, some are not.
