Not really the case.
Final possessions after going up by 11:
Carter turnover with 5 left on shot clock (2:27 left up 9)
Turnover on Bailey (up 7)
Carter missed layup (3 on 1, missed foul called by refs followed by the same foul called on LSU on the other end)
Foul on OM. Chest missed 2 FTs (6 seconds on shot clock)
Offensive foul on Carter
5 total possessions. Two were really good plays set up by coaching (fast break after OM timeout, and the play that got Chest FTs.
Other than that it was a meltdown by the players.

That’s fantasy, after the Carter miss he has to call timeout, chew arse, sit whoever he needs to and have them bleed clock. You can’t have Chest and Collins out there, it’s FTs and clock management from the on and you’re going to win the game. He did none of the standard things he was supposed to do

Okay. LSU touched the ball twice afterwards. Once they wasted 25 seconds and got 2 FTs. The other was an offensive foul called. That's it. That's the rest of the game.
You always take a 3 on 1 in basketball. You don't pull that back with a 5 point lead with 1:30 left. Sometimes players have to make plays.
McMahan has failed this team over and over all season. I just don't see it on him in that final 2 minutes.
He didn't make Chest miss 2 FTs, an easy dunk, and get a technical called on him all in the final 6 minutes of the game.
