Think about this. Not even a bad umpire can frick up that many calls on strikes and balls. Something was seriously wrong. He needs to be investigated by the Ncaa. He literally missed about 40 strikes or more against LSU. In several at bats, he handcuffed the lsu hitters by keeping the Wake Forest pitcher in the count.

I’m also of the opinion the UMP had something against LSU.
Some things I’d like to quantify, How many times was it a 3 ball count for an LSU batter and the Ump follows with a questionable called strike? (For some reason I seem to think this happened to Crews, I know it happened to Tommy 2 times)
How many times did the Ump call the outside corner/questionable strike for WF vs LSU?
How many balls were questionable for WF VS. LSU?
These #’s might start to give us a look.
What everyone seems to agree upon, even the announcers, was that the ump tightened on LSU pitchers, not just Floyd in the bottom of the 6th.

Never did I think we would have been better off with an SEC guy behind the plate but….that guy was all over the place. Story of the game should never be the umpire. One could certainly make the case of 7 of our starters having a rough day at the plate as the biggest story

I heard Moscona say that he thought the ump probably had enough of LSU because of how some of our players were reacting to his calls, and that he retaliated in that 6th inning.
I'm not saying that Matt's necessarily wrong, but if that's the reason, why was he not equally mad at Wake? Their hitters were shaking their heads even at some of the calls he got right. I didn't find LSU's reactions to be anything out of the ordinary for what an ump who misses that many calls should be used to.
And if he did retaliate, then he has no business working another baseball game. If I were an ump working with that guy, I'd have to ask him what was up with that 6th inning. And if I got the slightest hint from his answer that he was upset with one of the teams, I'd report him immediately. That's a black eye on the entire profession to have that kind of dishonesty.
