After sleeping on it for a night I've come down a little on this....so here goes.

Congrat on your retirement Paul. We appreciate everything you did for the Tigers and the baseball program in general. We appreciate the title your brought us even though I will contend to the day I die that you should have won more.

You always did it the right way and left the program in a helluva lot better place than your predecessor did. Thanks Paul.

Class act unlike the Tennessee fans that booed him when the announcer called him out. What a bunch of classless fricks. Guess when you never been there you don’t know how to act. I wish the worst on your team in Omaha

Paul is a class act, and will always be remembered fondly. I will never forget the wins against UT in the National Championship, and the incredible run in 2017. Paul gave us a program to be proud of.

Congratulations to a great coach and person. I remember 12 or 13 years ago we we’re going into Ralph and Kacoo’s and noticed coach talking outside on the phone. He wasn’t upset but was determined in his words as it was obvious he was chewing on a guy for signing a kid to a contract. Alright, no biggie, but he was explaining to the other end how the kid wasn’t ready, not mature enough yet, and that he was disappointed the guy signed him. We were just passing by but you could tell his concern was for the kid. Not the contract nor LSU’s interest but the player. I knew back then that this guy was sincere, a real class act, and LSU had obtained a great coach regardless of Ws and Ls. His career everywhere has born that out. Thank you Coach Mainieri and we can only hope and pray we can find another coach who could fill his shoes. He is a true legend.

It's sad that there are more threads about hating Pat Casey and Mike Bianco than responses to this stickied thread congratulating a coaching all-timer on a great career. Says a lot about the part of the LSU fanbase that posts here.
