Thanks Coach Mainieri! Enjoy your retirement. Not easy to follow in the footsteps of a legend the likes of Skip. You repped LSU with class.

Thank you, Paul! I know you didn't want to go out like this, but you've been here for 15 years, and have always run a solid program, consistent winners on and off the field. And even won a national championship while you were at it. Thanks for everything.

True story: 2009 CWS Championship series — we went and our daughter was 8ish. She had a box of cookies from a local bakery and we saw PM on the way to our car (early in the day). She asked him if he wanted a cookie. He was clearly in a “zone” but did a double take and took the cookie she offered.

We still talk about it and call it the lucky cookie. Best family vacation ever. Our kids are almost 29, almost 24 and 20 and they still talk about it.

I think the walkoff against ULL in the regional is going to be my best memory. I almost caught it!

Never fear, Paul maneri lives a 2nd life as the guy who runs the bayou corne boat launch. Can't wait to xplain to my son why it's called the "Paul maneri launch"

We were there ... my daughter called it. Of course she had a crush as a young teenager on CS who hit it so she took my phone and videoed that at bat.

That was awesome.

Lord knows I was vocal AF wanting him gone..... but I can still recognize what this 15 years has meant to LSU, to the men that wore the purple and gold and how much he poured his soul into these years. I hope like hell you at least read this thread tonight Paul....thank you! Forever, L! S! U!

Other than 96 Miami this is the best LSU baseball game I’ve seen.

I may be in the moment... The game the other night against Oregon to win it and advance has to be in the discussion as far as LSU playoff ball goes.
Teams catch up no matter what the dynasty. Paul can hang his head high on his way to the HALL.

This team went further than I thought they would honestly. I'm proud of them.
