They have cut down on ads on the video boards
I was so mad at the game that they did not show game stats or other scores in a convenient place and did not show them very often. Only place they were showing them was behind me on the SEZ strip. East side strip just showed adds all the time...

Here is a school that is trying to improve the fan experience, keeping fans in the stadium, thus increasing the home field advantage
To be fair, this "Texas fans first" mentality didn't really start until Chris Del Conte was named AD back in early 2017. He actually reached out to ADs at other schools, as well as to students and fans for ideas. Unlike the SEC, the Big XII doesn't have a rule specifying that visiting fans (or a certain portion of them) must be seated in the lower deck. Texas' desire was to keep the band and students together (LSU did the opposite in moving the band to the north end zone), so that required relocating visitor seating. The visiting band must sit in seats specified for their school, so off to the upper deck they went.
As an alumnus of both schools, I'm so glad to see UT finally putting the students and fans first, but I'm also very sad to see LSU continue to do the opposite.

They've also removed all visitor seating from the lower deck of DKR Stadium. All visiting fans and their bands must now sit in the north end zone upper level.
That's gonna suck for Tiger Band and all LSU fans making the trip to Austin next fall.
Just means the piss balloons coming from the upper deck are going to sting more before bursting on the Texas fans.

But do the have a chute?
They do not. They have a very nice food court area like you'd find in a mall, but they do not serve alcohol inside the stadium. However, Texas alumni and season ticket holders can leave the stadium and walk across the street to the alumni center where booze is served, and then go back to the game after they drink. I'm not sure if visiting fans are allowed. I don't think so.
The new south end zone expansion will not begin until late 2019, so LSU fans won't get to see it.

LSU games should go back to free student admission w/id like it was when I was there, and put the band back toward the middle of the west side where they were for years.
Amen! I don't post, but you're right about this!

I really wanted Del Conte. Texas made a great hire there.

quote:We used to have Saturday PM practice. March to the Field House and play for the Alumni. March to the Stadium/Down the Hill. Play in the stands pre-game. Do pre-game. Play all the first half with the drums going non-stop while on Offense. Play half-time. Repeat first half in the second half. Play the entire half-time show in the stands after the game. Play Alma Mater. March back to the Band Hall.
We need more tiger band performances from the stands.
NO PIM at all.
We all help up just fine and many then attended the weekly Tiger Band party after all that!

I realize that they can't do anything about the TV commercial breaks, but they drown out the band with piped in music and Dan Borne droning on endlessly with commercials.
Blair can't even get out of the play call before he's spewing out another oral advertising commercial.
I've made it a point to not patronize that company/business and have contacted them to let them know I'll not be buying their product for those reasons. More people need to do that. Boycott that shite and let the company know you're boycotting?

Hell, start getting some well known rap acts to perform at half time. The kids, and especially recruits, eat that up. Throw a DJ in the student section and today's students will show up for that.

I got to sit down with the guy a few times while he was at TCU. He was always asking me about LSU game day experience and was a pretty interesting guy. Seemed like he liked LSU. It would have been cool to have him.

No we don't. We are the SEC, full of tradition...not the fricking Pac-10.

You're right. You used to have to go over to the alumni center.

I'd walk out if LSU ever had rappers at halftime.

I went to my first game in a couple of years, and holy shite the piped in music is just obnoxious.
