So what did Schlossnagle do that Johnson didn't do? Remember, their coach didn't retire, he was fired.

This season?

Seems likely LSU's coach was suggested/highly recommended to stepdown.

If Johnson was left with so little to work with, why was Mainieri allowed to run the program into the ground?

One championship doesn't give you carte blanche to be lazy.

We made a mistake, it’s ok to admit it in fact it’s better to admit it.

Good grief. The program was not "run into the ground."

A bunch of people on the board today are saying Mainieri left Johnson little to work with. So which is it?

Where you been the last month or so when we were winning? We lose a series and you show show up like flies on shite. You want to talk shite when we lose but hide when we win. You are the definition of worst kind of fan.

There is a huge difference between "not a title contender" and "run into the ground."

Mainieri leaving was a mutual decision. LSU wasn’t going to openly fire Paul Mainieri.

it definitely buys you a minimum of two extra years at LSU.

He has the aggies on the cusp of a national host in year 1. I think hes just been a program builder, one of the best. No knock on Johnson, just gonna take cjj some time.

I know this may come as a shock, BUT THEY HAVE PITCHING AND LSU DOESNT. Look at the previous Coach and what his specialty was freaking dumbass: PITCHING! That is why LSU was talking about hiring him instead of Kelly.

LSU’s major problem is defensive fielding. They rank dead last in the conference statistics for errors (68) and fielding % - .961. A&M has 50 E’s and a .971 FP. If you can make routine plays and throw the ball to 1B the unearned runs will cost you games.
