I'm sure all the miserable people that predicted 6-6 or 7-5 would be really happy with 10-2 or 9-3 right? I agree 10-2 and NY6 is a big step in the right direction though.

I agree. It is the difference between the second half of Miles' tenure vs. Coach O going above and beyond.

I'll take a NY6 bowl every year, if it means losing to Alabama every season as well.

Because MR. ED lost the UF game.

If they win that we are looking at CFB playoffs!

Some would not be happy with 12-0

Ultimately it is the HC, but that game was lost on both sides of the ball.

Normalcy goes out the window when we play Florida. 2016 we stomp UF with over 400yds offense to 200+, but turnovers a 98yd TD pass and Guice running the wrong way dooms LSU. 2017 we win due to a missed Gator extra point. 2018 we turn the ball over 3 times including a pick 6 when we've had great ball security all season.

The tipping point argument has some merit still, because we don't know how good we are even at this point in the season.
The reasons for this are several:
1. Our play has been up and down and our offense has been in the tank since the State game. Our best overall is Georgia, which was early.
2. Our schedule turned out to be easier than we thought. Miami and Auburn were not top teams. We played and coached a poor game against Fla. ( see no. 1, above);
3. A & M is good and matches up well with us. Jimbo Fisher is a very good coach. This game means more to A & M than to us, IMO, b/c we've dominated them since they joined the SEC.

OP is right. If he keeps the ship moving forward, we have made an improvement and far exceeded everyone's expectations.

The only reason its the tipping point game is because its the last game on the schedule. Y'all have been doing this all year.

Yep, ANOTHER "tipping point" game huh? LSU has had a really good season and has won more than expected, but THIS GAME is the tipping point? I'd like to know what the OP's preseason prediction was! I'd bet it wasn't a 10 win season!

OP is a typical LSU fan hoping for things to fall apart, and sitting at the edge of her chair waiting for something bad to happen so she can say, "SEE! SEE! SEE! I TOLD YOU! I AM SO SMART!!! I TOLD YOU O SUCKED, E HAS NO CLUE AND ALLEVA SHOULD BE FIRED!"

The evidence being that if the "Tipping point" game is a big win on the road against another SEC team with a good football heritage, they will not treat it as the "tipping point." It will only be treated as another hiccup in their continued predictions that the sky is falling when it is really not. O will not get their support no matter how many tipping point games he wins.

OP is complete nonsense. The team is a lock to win 9 games. That will satisfy the powers that be. Which bowl game only matters to fans. The money is shared among conference members; nothing else matters.

I agree, a loss would be terrible.

but I also look at aTm and think, man they are pretty bad. They looked good before they lost to auburn & state (pretty much the only teams on their level of competition), and last week they struggled against Ole Miss. They have a lot of hype behind their team and Jimbo, but in reality, their big win is against Kentucky (at home in overtime). And the close loss to a Clemson team that hadn't found itself yet.

I think we win easily by a couple scores.

You are exactly correct. A&M is a hugely pivotal game...

Win, finish 10-2, and regardless of the poor offensive production everyone will agree that this season has been a success overall and definitely a step in the right direction for this program.

Lose, finish 9-3 and potentially 9-4, and this season will be a big bag of “meh”.....have we really gotten better as a program or are we still exactly where we were in 2015 and 2016 under Miles? 9-3 feels like we’re in neutral.

Either way, O will certainly be back for 2019. He’s earned that. But you are correct, this is a HUGE game in terms of perception in the overall direction of the program.

LSU-A&M is a highly pivotal game for both programs.

I must not have a good TV...I do not recall Coach O dropping the passes or throwing interceptions.

Man, you said it! If we beat A&M, but lose the bowl, it will be a treading water year. A three loss year sucks. It doesn't matter whether the losses are during the season or in the bowl.
