Is having certain number really that important??

I personally think that a player makes a number special not other way around

I want more players to pick up their own random numbers and make each of those memorable for tiger fans.

He was easily the 2nd best RB on the team last year, and it wasn't even close. People are forgetting about him this season with Fournette coming in, but he runs with balance, and more importantly, great vision. You never hear of him getting in any kind of trouble, and in every interview he comes across as humble and respectful. The are certainly worse people you can have representing your team and school than Magee.

He seems to be far and wide the best representation of what LSU football expects their players to be. He DESERVES it, but he's already cemented his place as one hell of a Tiger regardless of his Sr year

I could get behind that. He's earned it. We really do need some solid senior leadership this year.

My favorite tiger for 2014! He really surprised me last year. If we can get a serviceable passing game, our running game will be deadly!!!! TM18!!!!!!

There are only 5 real options:
Hilliard, Magee, Collins, Porter, Dickson.

Wouldn't be surprised to see an OL wear the number given their crucial importance this season.

Well, since OL can't wear it, you won't have to worry about being surprised or not.

I work out with his cousin (they have the same first name lol). We got on the topic of him because I brought up LSU and he was telling me about how Magee does a lot of his marketing for him (#teamallnatural

When majority of the Rants agree on something, it must be a very special & important topic.

Aren't there avenues to petition the NCAA for things like this ?

I can't give a definitive answer, but I wouldn't think so. Doesn't seem like an issue that could cause an issue that would warrant petitioning the NCAA.
