Agreed.

But in midweek/bullpen action. This experiment is done. Or should be.

This is their position right off bat and red X is Whitt the ball lands.. Had Dugas not settled under it like he had it maybe Jobert gets into a full sprint to track it down. But Dugas misjudged it and that threw off the whole play

In the end, we are prob expecting too much out of two below average fielders

I totally agree, but who do you start Game 3 without weakening your bullpen?

Riley cooper maybe?

We don’t really rely on him all that much on Friday and Saturday so why not pitch him first on Sunday? Maybe he gets in rhythm and goes 6 innings sometimes.

How are y'all still discussing this play?

Todays outing was typical cooper. A few good innings and two awful innings with 6 runs.

Lange was elite.

12-0 - 1.97 era
8-6 - 3.79 era
10-5 - 2.97 era
This is with the ball change from but not bats like today.

People didn’t chase that splitter /knuckle curve.

Game was lost there in that 1st inning, as far as I’m concerned 33.

Curious to see Jay’s take on it, and if he flat out blames Jobert for not getting to that ball.

Dugas has to run out to a spot & get a better angle on that,.

I hope Jay can put together a game plan as to who the Sunday starting pitching slot would be given to. It’s tough obviously, but hopefully someone emerges.

So you didn’t say Skenes was not as good as Lange? I quoted you directly.

Is he better than Lange or NOT?

So he struck out a lot of people and lost 1/3 of his games. 1/2 once people figured him out his last 2 seasons.
His era is not elite those last 2 seasons.

Aaron Nola had BBCOR bats that helped him dominate.
Skenes comparison is ONLY Peever. Nobody else had comparable equipment. The ONLY difference is the talent Skenes is competing against MUCH MUCH more talented players than Peever, Lange, and Nola.

Kling needs to play every day, bat him 9th, let him take his lumps. But he brings dimensions to this team that is missing with most of the regulars. His speed is a nuisance and his defense would really secure the OF.

A lot of very good points, but this one HAS to happen. Kling is just too physically gifted to not be in the lineup. He’s a draft eligible sophomore and I don’t want to see us waste much of it on the bench.

This entire thread is just the narcissist Lester Earl trying to prove he was correct about Dugas and Milazzo. 100% of the threads he starts like these will have these two main talking points.

He tried to twist Johnson's words and say that Dugas couldn't field, so he started this thread to drive home that point when he got the chance tonight. Everybody in the world knows Dugas has fielded perfectly fine, and this team wouldn't be where it is without him.

He also argued for days that Milazzo couldn't hit, so he's trying to drive that point in by shitting on Milazzo as well whenever he gets an opportunity.

People can down vote this. Lester Earl will come in and try to say I'm just obsessed with it, but everything I said is true and he knows it.

Dugas has been serviceable and is to valuable as a hitter to not play second base. My only criticism of Dugas is he has limited range in the infield.

I mean there is no question this is correct. You just give up some defense to take the hitting. It’s an easy choice really.
