Maybe had the NCAA not stuck their heads in the sand for decades & been proactive in making changes themselves this current situation wouldn't be occurring. Yet here we are & the NCAA is powerless to make any changes.

They did build a program that allowed young folks who could barely read to make millions of dollars. Didn't teach them how to manage it. JR

If Nico is under contract, isn't he is breaking that contract?

If I were Tennessee, I would go to the portal and find a QB.

For sure. He's not a program saver to begin with.

This is is pathetic. We need a new governing organization to replace the NCAA, and we need a collective bargaining agreement to determine what rules all of the players, coaches, and schools are going to have to play by.

Kids will start holding out of fall camp in August like NFL training camps soon.

They are imbeciles if they even negotiate. He's not worth what he's already being paid.

NFL players do it all the time. They agree to say a 5yr deal and hold out for a new deal after year 2.

College sports are fricked.

Good for Tennessee and Good for fat boy Heupel. Holding a team hostage for your mediocre play? GTFO kid. Only a handful of schools can even pay that much for a kid and most are already set pretty much at QB. This is going to blow up in this kid’s face and it should.

Yep, but big difference in the NFL and college, is that a player in the NFL is bound to the team he has a contract with. He can’t just leave and go play for someone else.

Nico is going to leave Tennessee in a serious bind and I guarantee some team (like USC, UCLA, or Oregon) are going to step up and give this kid more than he was making at Tennessee and play next year.

Yes…. College sports are royally fricked.

NCAA got away with socialism for so long that when somebody exercises freedom, the whining is epic

He probably won't get more but he'll make out fine.

Good for Heupel and Tenner. This will impact their team this year, but a point has to be made.

NIL contracts aren't annually. They are done quarterly.
