No frickin way they had half this much for that game. No way. Doesn't Cajun Field only hold 33,000? If so, that game was not only short a couple thousand in attendance. Oh well.

Still, Tech being only slightly less antagonistic toward UL Lafayette than LSU, as well as a recruiting rival, the thought that it might have to play UL — and likely getting beat — in its own backyard bowl was unbearable. Tech lobbied hard to keep UL out of the Independence Bowl. According to some sources, Tech even threatened to opt into the Texas Bowl in Houston if UL ended up coming to Shreveport. What do you expect from a school whose most famous alum is Terry “I may be dumb but I’m not stupid” Bradshaw.

I thought this was the best part. I didn't realize that La. Tech held that much power, at least not the power to snub the Indy Bowl in favor of the Texas Bowl because they didn't want to play USL. Tech is and may always be > USL.

I second that. I hope that if we (LSU) do hold those clowns down covertly, I hope it never stops. We are doing the country, and world for that matter, a favor.

I fixed that typo for you

BTW, speaking of USL's attendance figures, check this little tidbit about from the NY Times

quote:

*At Louisiana-Lafayette, officials approved putting a petting zoo in the parking lot during a home game to attract children and their parents. That game drew 20,512 fans, about a third more than their average attendance of 15,056.

A fricking petting zoo

Also, no way in hell is USL getting anywhere close to those attendance figures.

Here are pics from USL's web site taken during those games

TY for that. I knew I saw that FIU game on TV somewhere and there is absolutely no way there were 20,000 people there. A guess of the attendance of that game would be about 9,000. Maybe. Cajun Feild only holds around 33,000 people, 20,000 should look a lot fuller than what I saw.

I was at the FIU game and I guarantee you there were about 29k. By the second quarter, pretty much all of the home side was filled and the away side was about 70 % filled. You also forgot to realize that the hill on both endzones had to have had about 2k on each side.

I knew I saw what I saw.

They must have been in the petting zoo at that particular time. Shame on you for using doctored photos.

I like this guy. I love the LL Cool J reference. The fact that he is their fan and also refers to them as ULL is a good sign that he has not been brainwashed. His posts are well thought out and are backed up with facts.

Given all that, he won't fit in well around here

What ULL won't say is that they brought in LSU's Mike the Tiger.

I can't believe they are blaming the BCS.
