We love to prove that the SEC is truly the most dominant confernce

The SEC can win every BCS championship this decade and the major polls and ESPN will still pimp USC, Ohio State, and a hand full of Big 12 teams over much superior SEC teams. By the way USC was not upset by inferior teams this year. They were that bad. And Slowhio State is inferior to the last 10 years teams.

as long as there is no playoffs, it benefits LSU if the SEC is considered the strongest conference. period. end thread. boom. piihb.

I agree with the whole BCS/No playoffs/Strongest conference gets the benefit of the doubt argument.
However, I think what a lot of people omit is the fact that sports is all about playing the best. If you're not playing against the best teams, why play at all? So you can cruise to a NCG berth?
Personally, I root (that's not the best word but I can't think of a better one) for SEC teams in non-conference games because I love my teams playing at the highest level of competition. If all the people who never want Bama/UF/Aub/etc. to win got their way, LSU would be playing teams with losing records every week. Who the hell wants that?
Don't pull out the "If Bama wins, they'll get the better recruits" argument. With the scholarship limit nowadays, there are plenty of atheletes in the Southeast to go around (except Vandy, of course).

Help me understand the "Team SEC" mentality that seems to run rampant amongst the fanbases of SEC teams. What does LSU gain by Auburn, Alabama and Ole Miss winning their bowl games?
Considering the SEC has four elite recruiting programs: Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Bama, the chance of the SEC Champion going undefeated is very slim indeed.
With all these programs beating up on each other, we have developed a grudging respect for each other and what it takes to win an SEC Championship.
