Why would anyone transfer if we show willingness and ability to utilize them on the field?

CBK is not and has never been an “air it out” kind of head coach. If the tight ends pan out he will defer to them and “use the passing game to set up the running game. Not to say he can’t or won’t change but based on his head coaching history (especially at ND) where he had some pretty decent QBs, we never saw an “air attack” type offense. Unfortunately, he comes from similar old Big 10 conference styles as CLM. Hopefully, the talent at QB and WR will convince him to be more imaginative with the passing game. However if the OL and RBs pan out and excel, some fans might be frustrated when; after getting a couple scores up, he reverts more to a ball control, ground and pound offense. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will pan out in SEC play. We will certainly see in a couple weeks though. At any rate,

You think we are going to go from utilizing 1 TE last year to utilizing 4 TE next year? Can you point to a team that successfully utilizes 4 tight ends?

Also a good receiver out of the backfield with 4 receiving touchdowns in 2021

Basing this off of his scouting profile on On3. I’m not saying he is an all world catching RB but if he is an effective runner who can also consistently catch then I’m saying he is a true weapon.l that defenses will have to account for.

Honestly...with the oline lsu has and playmakers at wr and the gargantuan mismatch advantage at the te spot....this offense should be unstoppable or atleast top 5 in red zone and 3rd down converting

Mismatches in the passing game and run blocking. Or a 5 wide set with 2 TEs instead of a back.

Same with 12 personnel. Put any 2 of our top WRs with Taylor and Pimpton at TE and either Jackson or Williams at HB and you have an incredibly versatile offensive set that can create mismatches all over the field. Running a HUNH RPO drive with this group could wear a defense out if you catch them in the wrong personnel set up.

I'm excited to see pimpton be a part of the offense this year.

He was going to Vanderbilt before lsu flipped him late.
His high school tape was insane.

In camp, he is shaking safeties and catching everything.

Agreed. Between studs at WR, freaks at TE, and kaleb Jackson, this offense should be mismatch heaven.

Add in Nuss and the best Oline to come through LSU in my lifetime

Well....thats strong

Jackson isn't Clyde as a WR. Williams fits that role more. Jackson is more in the Hill, Fournette, Guice mold. Defenses aren't going to respect him as a "WR".

Fournette wad VERY underrated as a catching rb

What are you basing this off of? From practice reports it seems like Kaleb is still a good bit behind Williams and Emery when it comes to catching the ball out of the backfield. Hunt said the other day that he isn’t dropping the ball but you can tell he still isn't really comfortable doing it.

I wouldn't base your post on ANYTHING Hunt says, his post the other day about the secondary getting beat everyday and on every play goes against every interview or practice video I've seen. When it's 1 on 1s that's designed for the offense to shine, but whem it's 11 vs 11, the defense is attacking, making plays. ANYONE van win 1 on 1

Because they were getting beat in 1 on 1’s.

Did you listen? He acknowledged that the DB’s looked much better in 7 on 7 and 11 on 11 drills.

He acknowledges these things every time he goes through his practice reports. He also talked about how he was surprised with how well the DL held up in 1 on 1’s but they struggled a bit more in team drills.

I think the question is whether Nuss will be willing to take the check down when he has too

He better because that's what the offense is pretty much on 1st and 2nd downs according to reports. We're gonna be a heavy screen /short passing team ,which is good because we have guys who run well after the catch
We're probably more elusive at the skill positions now than we were last year as a whole

One of the local guys say during the goal line drills, while they were getting pushed out, they caught so plays where they had Taylor, Pimpton, and Green on the field at the same time. I say add Lacy and Josh Williams in the backfield, and you got yourself automatic redzone TDs.

Whoa, wait a second. You are insulting someone else's intelligence ? You ? Maybe you should peruse your own post history with an open and objective mind, if you are capable, and you would ascertain that you probably shouldn't be judging other people's intellect.

Self-awareness, and the ability to reflect on one's own behavior is key to becoming the best version of yourself. I'm not trying to insult you.

I think they all have the potential to be really good but you are putting a lot of stock in a true freshman and a true sophomore with 1 career reception for 1 yard.

Yep, good thing Mason Taylor took a Red-Shirt. Wonder why they didn't put a lot of stock in him as a True Freshman! You know, like throwing to him against Bama to win the game!

I will say, Kelly won't play a True Freshman on the OL or at TE. He just doesn't want to put them in that position.

Don't believe everything I post. Two positions Kelly has always seen talent at OL and TE. He plays them when he's ready, he knows talent. We have players that will go early in next years NFL Draft.

The Patriots were among the first teams to regularly use a four tight end look in 2015, when they paired Scott Chandler and Michael Williams with Rob Gronkowski and Michael Hoomanawanui.

The Chiefs and Browns have also used 14 personnel over the years. Last season against aTm, we used 4 TE's.

With the increase in roster limits, we might have more than 4 on scholarship.
