All USM starters throw a bullpen on the 3rd or 4th day after a start (depending on effort level, etc). Ostrander has not had a single starting pitcher have arm issues from baseball related activities in his 5 years at USM.
Correct. We have had a few guys come into the program coming off of Tommy John. None of them have had a re-injury. Gabe Shepard developed shoulder issues, but that was due to his violent mechanics - he wasn't overused at all.

Bull pen is a bit different than a game, and he's going to throw damn near a full bull pen just warming up.
With that said, we knew he was available today if needed for an inning or two. Does it really matter if he throws the first 2 innings or comes out of the pen for 2 innings? I would be surprised if he throws more than 30 pitches.

Hilliard threw 55 pitches Friday and most on here want five innings out of him this afternoon
I’d love 5 innings on 50 pitches

I think he's a good match up for us. His best tool is location, and that's usually what pitchers struggle with when fatigued.
His best tool is his changeup. We will need to let some fastballs go by to take advantage of it. It wouldn't surprise me to see him out there throwing 50% changeups.

It's his pen day. They're hoping he can give them 40-50 pitches
Hopefully that doesn't translate to 3-4 innings

Last year in Eugene Landon Marceaux threw 101 on Friday and 46 more on Monday. In 2016 Jared Poche went 92 on Friday and 69 more on Monday. This happens every year. Hall is not going an inning. He's going to go until LSU knocks him out of the game.

As per usual, Hunt hit the nail on the head. He will go longer than an inning or 2 if he is effective

Berry is one of the best In the business. Don’t let “he’s at USM” fool you. If the kids says “ let me pitch”….. let the kid pitch!

Well let’s not let him be effective.

My guy a bullpen is way different than actually In-game throwing.

1 IP (basically his scheduled BP session) to keep the top of our order from wrecking this game early. I hope we get to him and send him to the showers.
