Think about it, a team full of 5*, prima donna, athletes who only care about money and fame. And suddenly you give them 6-7 figure salaries? Imagine a bunch of immature 18-20yr old boys suddenly becoming rich. Imagine all the horrible decisions that will be made. In the last decade, sometimes the ONLY thing that has kept these players in line and focused on football was the promise of $$$ if you make it to the next level.

I would never want to even TRY to coach a team of players like this, it will be a disaster and I’m going to laugh at TAMU and Jimbo

I guess it's best we keep telling ourselves those things until reality smacks in the face

Georgia and Bama are 1/2 in recruiting every year and finish in the top 5 every year. You need talent to win and the 5 stars are more than not the most talented players. You will not win national championships without 5 stars. End of story.

A&M's transfer portal a year from now will be very dynamic.

How many 5 stars were on LSU’s starting 2019 team?

Jimbo is an above average coach he won a championship in a weak conference he’ll never win one in the SEC

Nothing else.

And we needed all 5. He didn’t say we need 22 5-star starters.

Not to discount the need for highly rated players but I feel what we need are coaches who can develop players and players who choose to play their 4th year. If we change both, we will be competing at the highest level. And keep the players we WANT in state.

I think the NIL will create for other teams (A&M) the culture challenges that grew like mold at "NFLSU" (me, opt outs, etc.). You have a pernt.

The teams that quickly learn to balance the $, their brand of football, and all the very important player development, opportunity, etc. will be floating to the top in this new world of college football in NIL era.

I mean, we get 2-3 5 stars each year. We have two in this class.
Sounded like he was insinuating we needed an A&M ranked class to win a championship.

Jefferson and Clyde were 3 stars.
Chase and Burrow were 4 stars.
York was a 3 star.
Thad Moss 3 star
Not one 5 star on the Oline
I would say a majority of our offense production did well not being a 5 star.

This will create problems but the guys with no experience getting paid and the starters not. I mean if I’m a starting lineman I’m not taking shite from a kid that hasnt played a down and the money is going to make that very explosive

a collection of players like that doesn
't come together very often. But a team full of 4 and 5 stars can be in the hunt every year. For ex. Bama, Georgia, and Ohio St. Soon to be aTm as well.

a lot of The players that will go to the transfer portal from those type teams will be NFL level talent and great pickups for a team like LSU, but they will still be the players buried on those teams depth charts

As long as we keep getting former USL transfers we should be good! Definitely gonna win a few New Orleans Bowls.

What makes you think their starters weren’t getting paid? Just because the NIL didn’t start until last summer doesn’t mean players weren’t getting paid to go to A&M. Same for every other school that competes for championships. Those that aren’t getting paid will likely hop in portal to extort their respective team or shop themselves for another program.
