Nuss has been very underwhelming this season. And it will cost him big time on draft day.
I disagree. Nuss will probably go in the middle rounds, which is where he would have gone based on last season. I think Nuss has played well this season, except for the limitations he has had due to his abdomen injury. He has shown great command of the offense and good ability to move around the pocket under constant duress. I know many fans think he has played poorly, but that’s just the tendency of fans to blame QBs when offenses don’t go.

Etling was a scraper and had a lot more ability to command the offense.
Nuss is mashed potatoes between the ears.

Why does everyone here or most here have such fond memories of etling??
Why wouldn't fans have fond memories of him?
He was a good QB, maybe not spectacular but solid. He is the 11th best passer, in terms of yards, in LSU history, in only 2 seasons as the QB. He was also great about ball security. If you look at int% for guys with at least 200 passing attempts, he is third at 1.3% in 544 pass attempts, trailing only Jayden Daniels (1.0% in 715

Etling did not have the talent but he protected the Football and used his mobility when needed.

Let’s not pretend 2013 Mett wasnt the real deal. He was really freaking good, just no mobility.

I wasn't pretending that, I said aside from 12 and 13. I agree, Mett was phenomenal.
I've always thought we need to just keep transferring QBs in.
I said this on a discord in November pertaining to the Underwood flip and I stand by it:
"Always struck me as odd that the top QB from Michigan was going to come to a school in Louisiana whose QB success has been almost exclusively from transfer QBs since 2008. The last QB that was recruited, came here, and developed into a better than average QB played on a Nick Saban team."

Give Nuss the same running game that Etling has and Nuss doubles his numbers. I really liked Etling and he brought some stability to a position that was horrific but Nuss is much better than what we're seeing now.

Etling based on his toughness and will to play.
Nuss gets up limping if he gets touched.

Etling was a smarter QB for sure. He lasted longer in the NFL than Nuss will.

The 2017 rushing offense was significantly better which changes the game. Not an apples to apples comparison.
