Leave T Bob alone and be glad that he snapped the ball.

This. I've been critical of the kid in the past but dammit he might have saved our season by snapping the ball when JJ wasn't ready.

A lot of chatter regarding T bob throwing his helmet and how that should have been a penalty.

Question for you all - might the reason be that it was not flagged was because time had run out already (in the case of both helemt tosses)?

Who are the dumbasses chatting about that?

The game was over.

Hell, half the UT players were throwing their helmets.

And how can some of you say he made a mistake?

Since when is a player required to wear their helmet into the locker room after a game ends?

and a no call was the right call.

The way they called it was EXACTLY right!

If they call the helmet stuff, they all offset but the illegal participation would stay in play becuase it happened BEFORE the play was over!

T-Bob spiked his helmet as a UT guy was falling on the ball. The play was still active.

Time had expired nonetheless. Game is over.

Seriously, did someone from LSU do something really bad to this man at some point in his life?

Two tennessee players threw their helmets as well. Would that not have been offsetting penalties?

Tennessee threw as many helmets as LSU.

T-Bobs helmet did not come off, before the Tenn players and staff rushed the field.

I know this is getting old. But Tennessee was penalized on this play for too many men on the field. So how could they get another too many men on the field penalty?

ETA: And everyone keeps saying Tennessee players threw helmets. They did, but none of them did as questionably close to the end of the play as T Bob did.

I haven't read the entire thread, so my apologies in it's already been posted. But Rogers Redding was interviewed this morning on ATL radio and explained the rule. Said that the point of the rule is geared towards actions that happen throughout the game (i.e. fights, touchdown celebrations with time to play, etc.) He said that it was never their intention to throw a flag for the emotional reaction after winning a game, as they were not going to play that kind of factor. That has been his stance, and that is what he expects out of the officials going forward.

I look at it kind of like Auburn's drinking on campus during football games. It is illegal to drink on campus, but the cops don't care and you are not going to get busted for it as long as you stay within certain boundaries.

Hope this helps, and sorry if already posted.

I was not pointing out too many men on the field, obviously, that happened before the snap. I was pointing out the other team committed a similar foul (rushing the field, plus being helmet-less), before T-Bob did. And that if they had to call a personal foul on T-Bob, then it would be offset by the same call on Tenn... in addition to the original too many men violation.

It doens't matter if he was emotional. You don't do that. When I played football, it was a cardinal sin to throw your helmet. If coach ever found out, the whole team had to run after practice. Something tells me Miles doesn't preach the same thing.
