The Aggies didn’t beat us because of strength and conditioning. They beat us because we can’t stop Marcel reed and Sloan/nuss don’t know how to play football

Moffitt, statistically proven, is one of the greatest CFB S&C coaches of all time. You can hate him, but that doesn’t take away everything he has accomplished

It did seem like a change was healthy for all parties at the time. Maybe it re-lit a passion for him. Kind of like the Raymond situation to be honest.

Some people need a change of scenery to reignite themselves. If I recall correctly we were having a lot stupid injury issues and the team was soft in 20 and 21.

"Statistically proven"...how in the heck can anyone possibly prove that? Every team has different levels of athletes including sizes, speeds, etc. There are dozens of factors differing from team to team. To TRY to give credit for a S&C coach is like rating football offenses or defenses when they don't even play the same teams. That is Kentucky windage at best. Sorry, not buying that for a second. Also, I don 't like or dislike Moffitt. I'm simply repeating what many posters were saying about how LSU had lost their physicality under Moffitt. As I said, revisionist history by some. I'm NOT saying you criticized him at the time for that.

Echoing what others said, people weren't terribly sad to see him go at the time. Maybe he got too comfortable and the termination was a wake up call for him. Kind of like I don't know if Saban ever becomes Saban if he doesn't leave and fail at Miami, or in fact if Lane becomes Lane without crashing and burning and rehabbing under Saban...

Brilliant retort - you're very special little fella. In the past you would be kicked for good,. Enjoy your childhood without parents.

Sure, this board is often full of mouth breathing delinquents. On the basis of statistically proven, he has 3 national championships for the same school under 3 head coaches. That alone speaks volumes on his ability to adapt a players workout regime to fit multiple different schemes, play styles, etc. That is an extremely impressive statistic to win S&C Coach of the year under multiple head coaches.

Moffitt told him no because Woodward guaranteed Moffitt he would keep his job through the coaching change. Kelly came in and immediately fired him.

I don't doubt this is true but it's entirely Woodward's fault. He's dumb guaranteeing him a spot when Kelly is completely entitled to bring in his own staff choices.

The truth is, I think Moffit’s run had gotten stale. That happens after 20 years. I don’t know that a change was a bad idea. However, the way it was done was really ugly given his years of service and contributions to the program.

Moffitt was a great S&C coach for a long time and then, as others said, rested on his laurels and refused to change. It happened alot in the latter years of the Miles era and then through much of the O era with the exception of 2019. He was basically living off the 2019 team as much as O was.

He would not have changed anything at LSU over the last 4 years. Him getting fired by BK lit a fire under his arse and made him have to adjust. He refused to improve and change things and LSU paid the price with weak lines on both sides of the ball. Flint has been bad, and also, outside of the LSU game, A&M has been blowing leads in the second half for most of the season. They barely scraped by a few shitty teams. This one game is being blown way out of proportion to prop up a narrative for Moffitt.

In the end, he is not the best S&C coach out there right now, but is better than Flint. LSU will be fine if they make a concerted effort to stop purely hiring connections to the HC they hired. They need to force the head coach to do legit searches for assistants and not what BK and O did.

Calm down. It was just one game and if you have any competitive drive, you'd have done the same thing.

How about being named strength and conditioning coach of the year multiple times for starters. Are you really this dense?

Only issue, is some of his last few teams were getting shoved around pretty good. Seemed like he lost a step his last couple of years. Maybe getting fired was a wake up call again, seems like he has Aggie trending pretty well in that department.

I agree with this. He fell off his last few years. Nothing like being fired and a grudge to motivate you again though.

You got a link to prove that. I only was able to go back 8 years and I didn't see him listed as a RECENT winner. BTW, I'm using the NSCA list which is supposed to be the official one.

Edited post: I looked him up and his award. Seems like 1999 is the year you are talking about. There are multiple organizations giving awards but the main organization seems to be the 1999 one. I'm sure everyone and their half brother gives out awards. Recently, he has not won any from what I can find.
