Swinson finally got his much deserved PT

Swinson, Shand, and Jefferson all looked great last night. Swinson has made plays every game so I’m glad the coaches finally realized they can play him more. Now as other posters have mentioned, I don’t know what the hell else Whitt Weeks has to do to earn the starting spot because he has been excellent this year and is an obvious upgrade over Speights.

I think it comes down to the position. ILBs have to make a lot of the calls up front, so you don’t see freshmen there as often due to them not having an full understanding of the scheme. I know they have simplified the defense, but I think we also know that House’s is more complicated than most you see in college.
I’m hoping we see a change here after the bye week. Speights is playing hurt and won’t be 100% healthy this season, so they need to get Weeks up to speed enough to be the starter.

Seems like every play he is in the game, Jefferson is in the backfield causing problems for the offense.

Weeks looks very talented, but he is often out of position and late to his assignments. Speights is much better right now, imo.

Dude, Weeks has been one of the best on defense the past 2 games. What the hell are you talking about. Weeks should be starting or getting half the snaps

Also playing into that I believe was that Auburn was a run heavy offense and coaches felt Speights might be stronger against that offense

Yes, Jefferson is a playmaker. I consider him a starter talent.
