The Box will not get a berm simply because you would have to take away seats and thus season tickets and LSU would make less $$$.

We would get a TAF berm, you could buy a shovel full of dirt for $1,850.00 per.

Their outfield atmosphere can't be matched. The grandstand area atmosphere is lacking

Yeah, but you see it is a tax deductible shovel of dirt.

The atmosphere at the new box is a joke. I don't like putting up with the older baseball fans, but i still enjoyed going in the old box. The new box just doesn't do it for me.

Exactly. Our stadium lore is perpetuated by the past.

When they show the crowd on TV it's pretty much all old people. The patting the self on the back cheering for the other team crap is stupid. Alex Box is not intimidating.

The atmosphere is clearly down but it still is good IMO. Ole miss has a better atmospher but show me another stadium that has the things LSU has.

Loud ball 4 guy
Chris gulliot
K lady ( I know we all hate her but it is a part of the Alex box experience)
Geaux tiger chants
Etc.

We may not have the greatest atmospher on college baseball but it still beats most colleges.

Florida can barley fill their stadium all season
Vandy is tiny and I still don't think they sell out that much
Arkansas is nice
MSU is nice
Ole miss nice but outside of the outfield what atmosphere do the have?
USCe is nice

But tell me what traditions they have that put it over the box

Well, for the most part it is the old people that have the extra money and time (4 games per week at 3-4 hours per game) to attend the games. Also have to look at the sections that are mostly likely to be seen on TV: the higher priced seats.

I'll cheer for a guy that breaks a record or pitches a perfect game, but outside of that, I will hardly ever cheer for the opposing team. And the parade around the stadium thing that people applaud when it is the other team gives me a case of the red arse.

Skip likes how we treat opposing teams, so I like it too.

I hated the Stoney Brook crap but cheering for an opposing pitcher after making a good appearance, or cheering for a fielder who makes a diving catch, I don't have any issues with.

It is one thing to applaud a great play, but the standing ovations for every single opposing pitcher? People do it even in a tight game, or a game where we are behind.

And Stony Brook could throw a perfect game every single game of the year and hit 500 homeruns and I still will only give them the

I will say this... Skip is our Bear...

we've just had too much success over the years to be excited about much before Omaha... we've seen everything there is.

maybe that's why the atmosphere is what it is

As one of the long time white hair fans(season ticket holder since 1985), I agree the atmosphere at the new Box has never matched the raucous fun that frequently was experienced at the old Box. However, each Feb. and March when Alex Box is more like an "Ice Box" temperature wise guess who most of the die hard fans are at those games?

It's the continued support of the seniors through season tickets over many years who have help make it possible to have a nice new stadium. I'm in favor of seat back chairs throughout the stadium, a berm like Swayze Fld. has, and alcohol sales.

Regardless of whether any or all desired improvements take place; one thing that everyone can do, as the Box exists now, is put away the smart phones so you can fully watch and enjoy the game and be ready for instant reactions!

Next time you are at a game, take a moment to observe how many fans are looking at or texting on their smart phones. Every game I find myself having to tell someone (frequently someone without grey or white hair) "What Happened" because they weren't watching the game preoccupied with their phones! Put the phones away and enjoy the games completely--that's the way we did it during the Bertman years before smart phones and the way I still do! I check my phone for missed calls/messages when the game is over.

When this old fart finally has to give up coming to games and must watch games via tv and/or the internet, I'm hoping to see everyone having the kind of raucous fun we used to have at the Old Box!

Yeah, Swayze may have a sweet arse berm and also allow drinking, but they don't have either the K Lady or the superman himself, Chris Gulliot, attending their games

The box doesn't need to change. If you want to add a berm you have to take away seats (including ones of season ticket holders) to add a section that isn't paid and is open to anyone to come in.

My season tickets are in the RF bleachers. I'd give them up to have a berm.

Let's limit attendance to people 25 and under. Make all of the old farts give up their damn tickets. They are just taking up space for the younger crowd.
