Meet proved he could beat bama in 2012. Defense just let him down

He was unstoppable in the 4thQ. So what does Les call when we're one 1st down away from winning the game? 3 straight runs btw the tackles.

Everyone always immediately brings up the defense at the end of that game, and understandably so, but Les fricking up the end of that drive hurt us just as bad.

That game proved that even with superb QB play (298 yards, 1 TD, 0 int), we still would never beat bama as long as Les is calling the shots.

We just HAD to "attack their strengths" no matter the game situation. Stubbornness to the highest order.

Jefferson is better than Harris and Jennings easily. (and I hate Jefferson)

Jefferson and Etling are probably a wash. Jefferson is more talented and could throw a much better deep ball. But Etling is a smarter qb who make less mistakes. Their accuracy is probably about the same.

Neither qb helps us win. Tim Tebow or Cam newton are the only qbs who could have helped us win that game. Bama dominated us in ever area of the game that night. We had no shot.

Can we trade for a different coach instead? Like trade Less for any other LSU coach?

If not which would've given us the best shot?

None.

Watch the game.

Our OL completely shite the bed. Their play made everyone look bad.

Peyton Manning could not have won that game.

Jennings and Harris are far worse than JJ. Mett was on the team...should have been ready to use.

I honestly think Etling is the only guy that would give us a better chance. Just because he's accurate enough to respect and he's tough enough to get enough yardage on the ground.

I always thought tRant's love affair began and ended with the current backup QB. It is now apparent that the affair stretches to all QB's, past or present, not currently manning the position.

Perrilloux really set this program back. Imagine he sticks around. Starts 2008, wins the heisman and leads LSU to back2back natty's. Then a heated QB battle between sophomores rather than true freshman leads to a respectable follow up campaign in 2009. 2010 a more polished Jefferson/Lee beats Auburn and LSU returns to the SEC championship for the 3rd time in 4 years. 2011 we win a natty... Am I doing this right??

Jefferson was not the only problem.

Miles and Cameron were as big a problem as the qb.

^^This^^

Horrible game plan. It was as if Miles and Cameron enjoyed the holiday break and decided they were simply going to do the same thing they did in game one - with zero preparation. Meanwhile, Saban was licking his chops and consulting with other coaches on how to stop the option.

LOLGreat Tiger and did some great things for LSU, but play vs Bama wasn't one.

Lee was absolutely horrible. If there were good things he did, probably means anyone with a still-beating heart could have done them. I was at the GOTC and we don't if they would have kept Lee in. And to say that Etling is not better is a joke also. Etling may not have the arm of those two, but he definitely has more brains and heart

Other than the 9-6 game, Lee had a very solid year. I think that Lee started to warm up in the 3rd qtr (?) of the 0-21 game when it was still fairly close. I've always wondered if they were about to put him in as it felt like the right time. Probably wouldn't have mattered.

I've also wondered if Miles felt that Jefferson was unfairly implicated in the bar incident, which led him to ultimately going with him as the starter late in the season. Based on evidence at the time, I don't think Jefferson actually did any of the things that he was accused. He just happened to be there.

I don't think any would have beat bama in that particular game. Their defense hit its stride and some pro teams would have had a hard time scoring on them

Neither, Miles would've started Jefferson regardless. He had a hard on for him for some reason.

What the hell? I'm no fan of Cam Cameron, but why is he getting any blame for the putrid offense? He didn't get hired by LSU until 2013.

It's like a large portion of our fanbase doesn't pay attention or have any sort of memory and just repeats memes they've read about what is/was wrong with the team.

Pro teams difficulty scoring on a college defense..regardless who is it. Laughable.

We beat Bama at their place and slaughtered everyone else on the schedule. 2011 was a special team but in the NC game Bama was on point that night. We shouldn’t have had to play them but that’s another matter.

We did win 2011. We beat every team we played and it took #2 two tries to beat us. The mulligan is null and void to me.
