Media....TV.....is to blame for these afternoon games. LSU traditionally played night games all those years FOR A REASON....it's freaking hot at 2:30.
And all the $$$$ it brings. No consideration to the fans.

to each his own. i dont fault anyone for staying away if thats the reason, but using "its too early" or "its too hot" as an excuse just baffles me. of course there are certain games that i would care not go to. im not going to furman because i'll be in cocodrie not catching fish. i've been going to tiger stadium since i was 6 years old. it's just a part of life for me. there are 5-7 times a year that i feel that im lucky enough to go into that stadium to watch a game. people all over the country would love the chance to just go once. i consider myself lucky that i get to go all the time, but thats just my opinion. too hot, too cold, too early, too much rain, all of that doesnt really matter to me. you just deal with it. i just dont see all of that as much of an inconvenience.

Any updates?

No mention of LSU, but he did mention declining student section attendance from 2008-2012 being a problem at both Georgia and Bama.

This is not an isolated LSU problem.

so you want people to sell them at face value, but you won't buy them for $10 less than face value?

some people are impossible to please

Students are a different breed now days. Higher entrance qualifications, possibly trending to a different demographic. More nerds and not enough jocks.

I agree- and if cost wasn't a factor for me- Id love to go 5-6 times a year.

Why anyone would go to a game in person when they can watch it from the comfort of their home, be able to follow all of the nuances of the game thanks to replays, etc., and have easy access to cheaper nourishment and a comfortable bathroom is beyond my level of understanding.

Let me use the 2012 LSU/Alabama game as a reference.

I like to go to the games because while the players are warming up I can watch Russell Shepard chunk a football 2/3 of the way up the student section to fire up the crowd. I like to be at the games because when you are in a tv timeout after the 3rd quarter, I get to see half of the LSU team run to the student section and jump up and down with the crowd. I like to be at that games because I can watch the Alabama players body language as they are trotting off of the field while LSU is beating them down. I like to watch the game in person because if LSU had held on to win we were about to have the biggest party with 90,000 of our friends that Tiger Stadium has ever known.

And then you know what I can do on Sunday? I watch a replay of the game on television and see everything that you saw the night before.

This is probably a big reason.

Tired of hearing this...
I stayed the entire game Saturday in the student section but on the opposite side of the field the entire lower bowl was thinned out after half time. Yes the students do leave early but don't act all high and mighty by thinking we are the only ones.

Do you really think SVP is going to affect those douches?

Of course. Everyone knows that to post something on the rant you have to endorse both the substance of what is said and the efficacy of any possible proposal that is put forward.

Cost of tickets is only an issue for maybe one or two games a year. You could show up on campus for 4 or 5 games a year and likely be given tickets for free at kickoff and at worst you may have to pay between 50-70$ face value.

Why is the problem being blamed solely on the students, from the student section it looked like there was much more empty seats on the East side of the stadium

The performance of LSU's student section on Saturday disgusted me. It's incredible that 18-22 can be so listless and apathetic. No pride, no competitive spirit, no school or state loyalty, no sense of tradition or history, no fire. Just lazy bums.

Isn't there one local Attorney that's a big L.S.U. fan that would be willing to file a class action lawsuit against the SEC/CBS? Something needs to be done, even if it's symbolic in nature.

I'm just trying to come up with a reasonable "Cause of Action" that would be accepted by the Courts and be moved forward. What about some type of "Restraint of Trade" argument because all those BR area businesses that depend on the income generated by LSU fans all day before a NIGHT game are losing out financially when a game is moved to afternoon. There are other issues that I'm sure a competent lawyer could come up with. I just want to see something be filed to show the SEC/CBS that we're "Mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore."

Any BR area attorneys out there that might offer an opinion on this? Is there any possible "COA" that might be accepted by the legal system? Would be awesome just to show the SEC/CBS that we're not going to just sit idly by any longer and put up with all this BS without a fight!
