Major Burns led the UFL in interceptions this past season for the Houston Gamblers and did enough to get brought in by the Dolphins. Glad to see he's developed a bit more since his underwhelming time at LSU.

I think his early injuries and bad scheme really hurt him.. Not saying he was some great player

It wasnt scheme, and it wasnt coaching. It was player talent and now we are a few years removed you can easily see what players have had success at the next level, and which ones havent. Even those guys who were drafted high like Maason Smith.

You dont have DBs who can't understand basic Cover 2 and Cover 3 as 4th and 5th year seniors, but thats what House had to deal with.

Does he still celebrate after routine tackles following 40+ yard gains?

In all seriousness i liked his passion.

The scheme was horrible…

But, if I recall correctly, he was famous for coming in full speed to take someone’s head off…. And WHIFFFFFFFF!

Head down and miss them completely or no wrap up and bounce off… I just remember HORRIBLE TACKLING FUNDAMENTALS

I never ever in my life trusted a play with him on the field but I like this story for him.

Keep at your craft if you love it work hard and become that respected late bloomer that really had to study and understand the game rather than just raw athletic ability.

Now you have both.

I still can’t believe Omar Speights became a starting linebacker. I remember seeing him failing to run down a TAMU tight end.

Hope he can have success. I remember he ran down the Bama WR in 2022 with amazing pursuit angle and effort. Had he not, that game was probably gonna be an L

I hope he put his head down and keep grinding. Ignore the distractions because Miami is a difficult place to play football.

didn't demetrius hoofkin have a couple bad years here, then maybe under saban 1 year he improved, then had a reasonably respectful pro career?

always hoping these guys pan out here, and i tend to not follow as much once they're gone, but glad when you see guys that didn't necessarily light it up here but they paid their dues and stuck around, and then get picked up in the league and hang around awhile. good for Burns!
