doesnt the sugar bowl have to pick the next highest ranked sec team if auburn goes to the NC? like how the rose bowl has to pick TCU if oregon goes to the NC. We're not going to the sugar bowl. done deal

Actually they can chose anyone if auburn is sec champs and go to bcsncg. Rose bowl has four more years to take a Non aq team due to their contract with the bcs so since Oregon if Oregon is in bcsncg tcu would go to get that off their things to do. Sugar bowl can chose any team within the top 14 teams in bcs standings which includes us

touche. and also the sugar bowl could be just eyeing the money hoping to bring in more money from lsu fans instead of arky fans. that appears to be the only reason

I would certainly hope that our guys could get together on their own and run through some drills and workout. Moffitt doesn't recruit.

Slim possibility it could still happen. IF OU loses to Neb this weekend, LSU prob moves up a spot or 2 in BCS. Sugar would then decide btwn a BCS #7 Arky or BCS #8 LSU......

This ought to add some fuel to the fire...

that's all the BCS bowls are about... $$$. That's the whole reason they are set up and refuse to change.

i would think LSU would be a much better draw than the piggies.

Miles is also telling the players there still is a possibility that they may pick up the bid.

This would also explain why we haven't excepted an invitation yet.

Am I mistaken, don't we already have invites to CapOne and Cotton?

Aren't there about 300 people on the Sugar Bowl Committee ? Probably a few of them are LSU boosters, too.

So what would happen with student tickets?

I'm not a student but I'm thinking that the Bowl selections are on Sunday ... SO if by any chance the Sugar would pick LSU there is time to send an e-mail to students ... bowl isn't for 3 weeks or so after that. I'm thinking there's time to figure it out ... I'd just stay on top of the e-mail box though if Sugar announces that they pick LSU.

I believe they can choose any at-large team in the Top 12 of BCS standings.

I hope South Carolina wins the SEC and messes up this whole scenario.

Well we have "excepted" every invite but the Cotton, CapOne, and Sugar pretty much.

Unfortunately, while fun, you don't want this at all, especially if you have a desire to stay home (New Orleans) for this bowl season.

no. I don't think we will go there, but your reasoning behind it is false. there is no stipulation on who they must pick regarding rankings if Auburn goes to the NC game
