Their melt doesn't seem normal.
My co-worker congratulated me and said "see you next year... oh wait."

My cousin's (Clemson grad) focus seems to be on their automatic bid next season. That Clemson is an elite program with sustained success, but LSU isn't.

Weird coping mechanism. They are mad in a very pathetic, limp-wrist sort of way.

Have y'all noticed this?

Clemson plays in the anemic ACC, so the truth is they have an automatic playoff bid for pretty much the foreseeable future.

How can they be disappointed
They have two nattys in playoff era with two wins over Bama

Almost had a third this year and will have a strong team returning next year with a likely automatic bid coming from ACC

LSU's road next year is as tough as ever.

The thing is, ONE loss and they are most likely out. That could very well happen any time.

every opposing fanbase has had this reaction to our season.

"oh they won't be near as good next year without burrow or brady."

"oh they'll be back to 2 losses"

i tell them who cares? we got our natty. we got our goat season. attrition is expected.

this gives the staff a chance to breathe, retool, restock, and work towards building it back up.

it's a strange reaction from every other fanbase.

They were pretty good this seasons and UNC should have had them. Somebody will get them next year and the committee will freeze them out for their shitty schedule. Can’t wait

After this years championship game, I don't know that Clemson will get benefit of the doubt like in years past.
The Pac 12 should be sending Clemson a thank you card.

Exactly. Clemson and OU fans react differently because they both play in JV conferences and baring any catastrophic event will be back the next year.

LSU should have scored again and gone for a two point conversion.

That would have given Clemson fans a different kind of melt.

i don't know about that, they did beat the other supposed GOAT in ohio state, but ran into this buzzsaw.

they'll get every single benefit of doubt.

Yeah, and I've actually had a few talk about the couple of plays that crippled them - they did it to themselves kind of talk.

On their message board, every congratulatory or complimentary post was either backhanded or passive aggressive.

Their fans have a weird small penis complex and just can’t seem to help themselves.

I looked at the ACC and after Clemson the next best team has 5(!!!) losses. Every single one of them has at least one out of conference losses. Damn what a pathetic conference.

None of them can say shite about this team not being the GOAT so they have to deflect by arguing that LSU won’t be back next year. Too bad we beat your asses THIS year.

Yeah their board is weird, its a "you are a one hit wonder, we will be back next year" kinda take.... LSU was Clemson from 2001-2011, we were either winning it all or in the hunt. Then it became the winner of us vs bama for the next few years. Makes it seem like most of their fanbase, werent fans until this decade.

We beat them worse than we beat UCF, and the American is top-to-bottom stronger than the ACC.

Mountain West also has a couple that are better than the #2 ACC team.

If Clemson continues to get a pass then the committee has to respect their own precedent and start selecting the ‘17 and ‘18 UCFs and ‘98 Tulane type teams as well.

That’s obviously not realistic, so Clemson either needs to nut up and schedule marquee non-conference games or join a better conference like the AAC.
