My theory is that was discussed with CEO before the tear with a possibility of opting out if things went sideways with team while he similtaneously
enhanced his draft position. I would say both have occured and he's gonzo!

Dude, this is a website to discuss things...Don't tell me to shut up, or we would have no content to talk about. LSU players have a culture to quit on their team!! Not 2 ways to put it. They just used LSU to get some good plays in for film, then call it a day. Sure they won a natty last year, and then almost all who could bailed out. Terrible!!
Why does Smith, Harris and Waddle want to play every game and every down for Bama. Explain that one? I have more respect for them now and will never shite on them again because their players care about Bama, each other and those hick hillbilly crowds...
Yes, the NCAA system is flawed as I feel there should be rules saying you have to play 3 whole seasons and you cannot opt out. If you opt out you miss 1 NFL draft!!

If Marshall’s plan was to start training after the last game, well he’d be on schedule. The Covid shook the hell out of the original schedule which would have ended last weekend, cut this kid some slack. He’s more than earned it.

It just seems to be happening more often at LSU lately and not so much at other power programs. That makes us weaker. That's why I am upset about the culture.

Curry must be transferring or some shite
This is more on coach o.
Something is def going on if guys like ingram and cox are opting out.
They are both good, quiet kids.
Obviously both are going to the league but something is going on.
Not good coach o, not good

We can't because Ed Chizik is a mediocre hc at best. He caught lightning in a bottle with Burrow, and to a lesser extent with Brady. And I fully appreciate the argument that Ed Chizik WAS the reason Burrow and Brady are here. I think he just got lucky, and is about to sink this program. He is still recruiting at a high level, so Ed feel free to jam my foot down my throat just like you did in 2019. I DESPERATELY want to be wrong about Ed, because I love LSU.
The weird thing is that although I think Smart is a better coach, he might never win a natty, and Ed has. Some times a blind squirrel finds an acorn.

Holy shite!!! irish, is that you???? You have 2 accounts on here???
Of course I don't know for a fact that bama is compensating THE HELL out of their players to come back a 4th year, or to not opt out of bowl games like Fournette and Greedy. But use your common sense man. Right or wrong, Money makes the world go round, and there are VERY FEW humans (statistically) that don't base personal decisions on financial considerations.
Especially young, testosterone loaded, elite athletes who have a financial future 95% of us could only dream about. Now ask yourself: Why would a bama kid play longer in college than an LSU kid? To some small degree, they are a better program and generally have more to play for than LSU. But logic dictates that they have these boys on a HEALTHY retainer, and by our guys leaving at the drop of a hat, we don't.
As I suggest to irish (assuming you aren't him) and others: if you want to watch a pure form of college football, you need to follow division 2,3, or possibly NAIA ball to satisfy that desire. In big time football and basketball, ERRRRYBODY is paying the top players/families, with few exceptions.

Can we stop calling 'quitting the team', 'opting out' ?
They quit. Chase, Shelvin, Vincent, Marshall ... quit the team, period.
You don't accept a scholarship, benefit from the scholarship and exposure/training/experience that it provides you then 'opt out'. That's bullshite ... they quit. They left their brothers hanging and for Marshall to do it after his big show speech and the week before the Bama game is chicken shite.
