Wait? Who doesn't think this years team is better than last years? What does our record say? What did your eyes tell you?
The same troll that posts the same thing in every single hoops thread.

Let's all give Stony Brook a round of applause

The SEC won't be allowed to get 4-5 teams in the NIT.
4 teams made the NIT last year after 4 made the NCAA's...and remember our league got bigger by 2 teams this year.

Iowa is the only team on the list that I could see LSU replacing. Minnesota has been very good this year and Stanford will be a 20+ win team with a big name. LSU needs a win at least in the SECT it would seem.
Edit: I could see LSU maybe pushing out Tennessee or Arkansas as well.

I mean come the frick on we're 18-11, 9-9
Apparently, in 2007, the NCAA decided that selection for the NIT would not have the restrictions of having to have a .500+ year, or be able to put butts in seats /$$$$$.
I don't know why they would allow sub .500 in and I don't know if they have actually implemented those changes.
My point is that LSU might get shafted even IF we're .500+

Why does everyone say LSU is better this year as opposed to last?
Wait, everyone is saying this? Didn't last year's team actually make the NIT?

I think someone needs to patent 'Stony Brooked' as soon as possible. It's becoming quite the trend.

18-11, 9-9 this year
17-13, 7-9 (at this point) last year
This year's team does seem better, whether or not they make the NIT.

Not only do they seem better, this team IS better. I have enjoyed watching this year's team very much. Last year's team was like, "I'm rooting for you, but really just hope you get to 55 points in the game"

Let's give them another victory lap.

I agree...but this team sucks! Going to the NIT is a disgrace! This is equivalent to football anxiously debating if we're worthy of the Independence Bowl. After crappy auto-qualifiers, probably 45 teams make the NCAA. If you're not in the top 45 it really doesn't matter where you are, except that you're improving and might be a real team next year.

LSU's record is keeping it out, not Stony Brook. There's no way in hell they are one of the first one's out.
Posted on 3/13/13 at 11:53 am to Hurricane Mike
The point is they lost their conference tournament and now are a nit auto bid taking a spot away from another team. Fwiw Mercer, Niagara, Robert Morris, Northeastern, Charleston Southern also cost nit bubble teams.

Theres usually about 8-10 regular season champs that lose and take spots in the nit. Its going to depend on how many conferences like A-10 and the valley get multiple nit bids.
