Thanks for bringing the maturity level down multiple levels. I'm gonna bow out at this point. I may go look at a few more NIT projections online.

Welcome in 6 automatic qualifiers in Middle Tennessee, Stony Brook, Mercer, Niagara, Robert Morris, and Charleston Southern. These auto-bids forced out Illinois State, Dayton, LSU, Texas A&M, North Dakota State and USC.

Has the NIT always had this many automatic qualifiers? I noticed it last year or the year before...seemed kind of weird and wrong.
Oh and that's my 10k post

People usually look how you finish, even when lsu lost late this year it was close minus ole miss
Last years team was square on the bubble going to ole miss and got a huge beatdown, came home lost to a bad tenn team at home then got another huge beatdown at auburn.
Beat ark in round 1, lost to uk intight game, then the oregon debacle.
So many blow outs lat year skewed what was up to that point a descent season.
And people started thinking nit when lsu started sellinf nit tix. Pretty natural to get excited thinking youre in when school is on board

Haven't even heard of half those schools.

This always happens with postseason basketball.

They have
18-13, 9-9 Richmond
18-12, 4-12 Wyoming
17-12, 8-8 St. Joseph's
17-13, 9-9 Providence
18-14, 9-9 Indiana State
17-14, 9-9 Washington
16-14, 8-10 St. Johns
We'll make in it over at least 1 of these teams, I mean come the frick on, we're 18-11, 9-9.

All those teams play in better conferences.

And have more losses, all of them, and none have more wins (and we played less games than all of them). The MVC is also not better than the SEC this year.
And I dont care how good people think the MWC is, having a 4-12 conference team in the NIT is a disgrace. That's pathetic. Wyoming played NO ONE OOC either outside of Colorado.

THe problem is the SEC bubble teams. If they go to the big dance, it opens up a spot for us...otherwise, we get left out. It's not looking good so far.
We need to win our first game and them upset Florida...that should secure an NIT birth for us

We finished as the 9 seed in the SEC. The SEC won't be allowed to get 4-5 teams in the NIT. It all will depend on how many NCAA tourny bids the SEC gets.
Posted on 3/12/13 at 10:36 am to Choupique19
How does the NIT have auto bids?
Posted on 3/12/13 at 10:46 am to Broski
Wait? Who doesn't think this years team is better than last years? What does our record say? What did your eyes tell you?
