Najee Harris was damn near a 5th one

He was going to be a 1st rounder.

quote:Najee Harris would most likely been the 1st back taken in the 2020 nfl draft if he would have come out and most likely mid 1st round pick. Devonta Smith is probably a late 1st round pick if he would have declared for the 2020 draft as well. What amount of $$$$ does it take to get players like that to pass up the NFL draft. Same with Etienne at Clemson. Would have been like Devin White choosing to stay another year last year. It just never happens at LSU.

It’s cute some people think this is ever a reason to stay.

Cd is right, DS needs to use this to get better.
Sounds similar to what Bo P said recently...

Well, if you just judge him by his worst plays you are correct. How about the other plays where he had Smith covered?
Dude, he gave up over 200 yards and two TDs! He had a terrible game against Smith. Sometimes the other guy just wins.

I don’t recall Stingley giving up a catch all year after the bama game tbh
This was probably the best thing to happen to Derek this season from a development standpoint. He has all the skills and physical talent but needed the experience. We all learn by our mistakes and I am certain that he did too from that game.

Agreed aranda did our Dbs no favors consistently leaving them on islands with no help against the track team of wideouts bama has.
This is a poor take. Aranda had a great game plan against Bama. He relied on our exceptional corners and took away what Bama likes to do - the crossing routes. That put Bama in a situation in which they had to take shots downfield against our two future all-pro corners. That was a great strategy. Even at the end, when Smith caught the bomb with just over a minute to play, it was a great call, and Stingley foolishly let the receiver get deep on him. That was not Aranda’s fault. It was Stingley’s fault.

Who won that game and went undefeated and won the Natty tho?

I'm sure it's been pointed out, but he had 150 of his 213 yards on 2 bombs. One where a sideline coach distracted Stingley at the snap and another where stingley tripped and fell in coverage. It's not like Smith ate his lunch.
To his credit, he made a nice back shoulder catch on an insane pass by Tua, and a catch on a slant where Stingley was all over his arse and he still managed to hang on to it.

Let’s see what happens when he doesn’t have 2 of the best WR, in the draft, on the field with him.

Even Peterson got torched by Julio his freshmen year . . .
No he didn't.

My mistake was it his sophomore year because I remember a year while Peterson was at LSU where Julio got the best of him

Julio is one of the best WRs to ever play in the SEC. Likewise, PP is one of the best CBs to ever play in the SEC. Epic battles. But in none of the 3 did Julio "give it to" PP. IMO, JJ probably had the better day in '10 - and he had 89 yds receiving.
Perhaps his (JJ's) best play was the screen he housed in '09 when PP was on the sidelines with cramps.
LSU-Bama stats '09

Def not LSU fan. Go to porn chat sites if you looking for fake takes.

we live in Smith’s head rent-free.
It’s as simple as that.

The most exciting part of the Stingley story is that he will wear P&G for two more seasons and will get better. He was amazing as a freshman so where he goes may be unprecedented
