Still have no idea what we're capable of.

Guys, I know we're a great team. The reason I'm posting this is because of the close games.

I'm worried we may not be as capable of going to the final four as we may think

To be clear, we have a great team that's earned there ranking.we earned a shot to win the sec regular season championship, outright possibly.

I just worry about us not beating teams that are not very good by more then a few points.

It's exciting to me that we're capable of so much more. if we play a full game with no scoring lulls, we can win it all.

I'm trying to figure out if we're great or good and lucky. Any idea why we don't put teams away ? why don't we blowout our opponents as much as every other team in the top ten does?

Hopefully we have an advantage once the tourney starts, because of theese close games.

I just thought it's worth a discussion. I'm not like some people that complain no matter what.

I just thought I'd ask if anyone else is nervous when it comes to margin of victory.

Maybe it's just who we are, maybe we have to win close games for some reason.. I just don't know if the old school guys can handle the pressure on there heart lol

Me too, that game shows we play up to the other teams level.

Then I started to worry again lately with the Florida games, Georgia game, and the arky game .i could be missing some.

It’s a team dominated by freshman and sophomores with a few vets. I believe this team is a even more talented than Tyrus/Big Baby/Mitchell.

The freshman especially, Naz isn’t as good as I thought. Based off potential I see one and done but he isn’t developed. He soft for his size, and careless with the ball when facing upperclassmen or physical bigs. You see the upside but I feel he’s not the real stretch 4 we thought. If we would focus on his low post moves he has the talent to be Tim Duncan. To get to that level is highly unlikely but he’s definitely talented.

Smart is better than I thought , I thought he would be a decent 6th man with 2-4 good games but he’s prolific scorer with strength inside. Not sure if he’s the athlete Dwayne wade was but I there physicality remind me of each other.

Emmit Williams = Dennis Rodman v2.0

Days = I feel he will stick around some time and will score a shiton of points. Pretty stroke shooting the ball.

You know what would throw some coach's for a loop?

What if we ran plays to get naz some open 3 point shots.. Days, kbw ,and Emmit Williams could protect the rim for a little while, and naz could post up behind the line as a small forward.. He's actually our best three point shooter when he catches and shoots without moving much...

May be stupid, but it's a message board for stuff like this from time to time.

All good points and 100% agree because close games usually all in some way come down to free throws which are never guaranteed just ask Jordan Mickey against NCST a couple years ago and 95% Free throw shooter Skyler Mays after last nights game. It eventually catches up no matter how good a team is unless you put people away. They are mostly young so it is what it is I just hope the train ride doesn’t end to early.

LSU enjoys/relishes the competition late in games. You're right - that's who they are. They don't seem to have a problem with it and neither should we. Margin of error is very slim and when things like Waters losing the basketball and Mays missing front end of one-and-one happen late in games they CAN certainly lose - to anyone. However, they usually find a way to WIN! Pretty sure they are going to put Vandy out of their misery early on Sat. Maybe actually blowing a team out will be a cool feeling going into the SEC tournament an they'll actually do it again.....

It's a double edged sword.

On one side this team can play against anybody, plus will not be scared at the end of close games.

On the other hand, we could very well be one and done against a mid to low level tournament team because of the way we play.

I'm just going to enjoy it, we could be final 4 or one and done.

I think it all depends on our 3 point shooting to be honest. Teams are going to try to make us shoot 3s instead of driving to the rim like UF did last night. If we can get some open 3s and make them late in games like we did last night, this team can beat anybody.

As for close games with UF, I think the announcers said it perfectly. Their style of play offensively matches up well with us and their defensive play gets us out of our comfort zone. Good to see that we were able to win doing things we don’t do well, making 3s, in crunch time.

This does not seem to extend runs very well. They start a run, get overly excited, and do something out of control.

Outside of that, this team is very good at playing defense and rebounding. IE very well coached.

I've said it for most of SEC play, and think it's still valid... If it's a close game with under 6:00 to go, I'd bet a lot of money on LSU. With the rare exceptions (Arkansas and Florida), if LSU is in a tight game late they know how to win (which is huge come tournament time)

We are playing 4 freshmen and a sophomore. Kentucky hasn’t been blowing people out either. They should have lost at Ole Miss the other night and Arkansas last week.

Last night's game you could see early on LSU would move the ball around and work it inside and get good shots. Then there were periods they would just go iso and all movement stops and either a player takes a contested shot or drives into traffic. It seems to be a youthful inconsistency with Wade trying to break their tendency to switch back to playground ball.

This team could win the national championship

And this team could go out in the second round depending on seeds and matchups.

But it's been great fun

We’re a team that could win it all, or lose in the first weekend. And the rant will be incredible either way

This team has the talent to take it to the elite eight but also has the stupidity to get run out of the gym in the first round

LSU's last football championship team had 2 OT losses to inferior teams.

The basketball team is capable of winning it all. They're also capable of being bounced first round, just like every other team in the tournament.
