LSU wouldn't offer him simply for being brother to a famous QB

So, we didn't do this with Rick Clausen?

Isn't the coach his dad?

He is an assistant coach on the current team. Allen Creasy is the head coach who is quoted as saying Stephen is better at this age than Phillip was , roughly a decade ago.

Saban and Jimbo gave him high marks initially but he just never matured physically like they expected him to. Maybe they were just hoping to reel in Jimmy a few years down the road.

You know way less about CFB than you think you know. Do you happen to know who UCLA's HC/OC are? Norm Chow is considered one of the best QB coaches alive. You probably couldn't even name Arizona State's HC, much less their OC. ASU jumped about 60 spots in scoring offense in their new OC's first season.

Correct if I am wrong, but doesnt ASU usually have decent QB's who can throw the rock pretty well. off the top of my head there is rudy carpenter, andrew walters, and the guy who transferred to minnesota

we didn't offer Ed reed and reggie Wayne

Sorry to jump in like this, but I graduated w/Reggie Wayne, and on signing day that year there was an huge LSU bus behind our gym next to the athletic building for half the day.

So yeah, they offered.

Rudy Carpenter had impressive numbers while at ASU. Rivers offer list isn't bad at all for a pocket passer. Bama isn't gonna offer Rivers b/c they really aren't looking for QB's this year and Auburn isn't going after a pocket QB with their type of offense.

Not exactly, but his father said at the time he was the better quarterback in high school between Casey and Rick.

If they would have said he's better than Eli Manning I would have believed it.

Haha they just meant, if each were seniors in hs - stephen is further along but it really doesn't matter because Stephen hasn't reached campus yet

A few recruiting web sites have him listed at 6'6", 200 lbs (which is not a lot of weight on someone who is 6'6 - looks like Moffit will have some work to do!!)

He's got some nice footwork and moves well in the pocket, i'll give him that

Just curious, but how much about his high school career do you know?

i know that from the start of his high school career he was a famous QBs little brother. I know that people gave him every chance to succeed partially because of this fact. I also know that because of the success of phillip, the same was expected of stephen and therefore he was groomed and hyped as such. He did not start from the same place that phillip started from and therefore is only logical to assume that he would be ahead of him now.

Wow, I would imagine he's going to need a good 30-40lbs.
