Said that he will be attending LSU and that the high school coach said that he is better than Philip. Also that he is 6'7.

at this point in their respective careers, Stephen is headed to a top SEC program as a QB...an opportunity Phillip didn't seem to have.

With regards to notoriety (being mentioned on TV, etc.), you are absolutely correct. But with regards to scholarship offers, I disagree. LSU wouldn't offer him simply for being brother to a famous QB. And if Stephen accomplished anything on the field, it is hard to say it is because of Phillip... unless Phillip was personally coaching him up in the offseason.

I watched this kid play a couple of games this year. He is the real deal. He had no o-line and terrible receivers and still blew up defenses. Really looked like a man amongst boys.

He meant better than Philip at this point in his young career compared to where Philip was at the same age. I thought that was easy to comprehend.

He's so good he didn't have an offer from either in state power and instead committed to known QB evaluators Gary Crowton and Les Miles.

So you got to evaluate Philip rivers in high school more than his own hs coach ??

Rivers will be good with some seasoning, and talent around him. If you can't see the talent by watching the film, you don't know talent. He isn't someone who will come in and contribute immediately however.

Would have been a wasted offer. He wasn't going to either.

He had offers from UCLA, Arizona State,Oklahoma state,Tennessee Notre Dame......I mean that's not a bad offer list IMO - since when does it make a difference who alabama and auburn offer, we didn't offer Ed reed and reggie Wayne or marshall Faulk. Auburns offense doesn't fit rivers and Alabama is loaded at qb with 2 top 5 prospects already there and philip ely committed

Notre Dame is the only one that is impressive because of Brian Kelly.

Matt Flynn was technically a three star recruit and he starts for an NFL team. This guy is 6'7, and sometimes if you have the build to be a pro qb, everything else will develop in college.
